  1. Saw that a few days ago - very amusing. What I find sad is that the Labour shade minister's initial statement was no surprise/shock to me at all as it's their normal drivel. I can tell you with confidence what Labour will do if they win in May. They will borrow more, give it away to feckless benefit spongers and final bankrupt the country as they tried to do last time they were in!
  2. Part of me is now officially in the club. Just seen the doc and he says that i have the hip of an 80 year old! Also said that I should lose a bit of weight 😢😥.
  3. Macca! you'll have the mods coming down saying that. I can hear their footsteps now. 😜
  4. Looks like there could have been plenty of root damage done when that pathway (or what ever it is) was put in. Depending on targets (thing that may get hit if it did fall), a crown reduction may be all that is needed.
  5. I went a bit further with gaffer tape and zip ties but unfortunately i think that it may have affected the sale
  6. Get them to meet you at a location 5 miles away from the yard. Take their phones from them, make them wear a heavy cloth hood over their head and take them in your motor to the yard.
  7. I use Lime Lite and have been happy with it for a few years now. I did use it with the original ZZ and it worked fine.
  8. Westcon equipment have all the spares.
  9. This won't be easy to explain but i'll try. Starting at the net profit figure that you would have from your accounts, adjustments need to be made for personal use (these could be motoring costs, telephone, etc). Other adjustments are (if your big enough to need a Balance Sheet) to add back asset depreciation or profit/loss on disposed assets - this is because the tax man allows for assets differently than how you may have in your accounts (look on HMRC website regarding Annual Investment Allowance, AIA, and balancing allowance). This will give you an Adjusted Profits figure which is what your tax is calculated on. The first £10k will be tax free - this is whats call your personal allowance. And next £32k ish will be taxed at 20%. You also have to pay NIC tax which is about 12%. You can deduct any CIS tax that you've paid during that year. You also have to show any income from dividends / bank interest that you've received but this probably won't change your tax bill by much as it's usually taxed at source. Has that confused you enough? It has me and i roughy know what i'm doing!
  10. Definitely an app glitch. Links to branch swinging through the app on my ipad but if you try the link on Arbtalk website via safari on the same ipad it's fine.
  11. Burrell's had the same happen to his. It seems like quality can vary greatly.
  12. There's a link on the first post of this thread. That's what I followed to buy some via my ipad.
  13. Just paid for my 2014 badge. Cheers Steve, good job.
  14. I've no advice to offer i'm afraid but I am jealous. Had a few days in Sausalito last year, across the bay from Berkeley - beautiful countryside.
  15. Webley & Scott 912. Gift to myself, cos i was such a good boy.
  16. They'll never find them under ground eggs.
  17. Strange, still not working on my ipad but fine on the desktop.
  18. Don't think that the link is right David. I get directed to a Super Stumper thread.
  19. That is a beast, which park was that one in? Still haven't got round to loading up any from my trip in 2014. Do you want to keep this thread just for your (great) pictures or is it open for all?
  20. I know that they do exhaustive tests to determine strength rating to eliminate any design flaws but they can't possible carry out exhaustive, comprehensive tests for usage period, that would take several years per product - they take an educated guess and then knock off a bit. Be honest, are you telling me that you wouldn't trust any (un-abused) kit that has reached the manufactures date. As say, common sense and Inspectors discretion should be allowed.
  21. And of course manufactures will state the smallest amount of time that they can get away with because then you have to buy more kit from them. Stinks doesn't it. Dad's climbing on one of my retired Weavers after his harness got stolen a few years back and probably still uses ropes that are older than me!
  22. I'm guessing it will be 2013/2014 which will be due 31/01/2015........about 20minutes before midnight if i'm true to form.
  23. You must have one of those really, really expensive accountants if she sits on the home sofa with you
  24. Hi Scotty, I think that that is exactly why he does it. Chippers are ultimately just labour saving devices. When i'm chipping i'll be putting 5 or 6 inch bits through my TW150 (as I don't sell on logs). This takes seconds per branch. When i'm working for my father (who does sell logs) he'll be dressing it down to 2 to 3 inches. This takes minutes per branch. Times that difference by how many branches in the tree and it can add a considerable amount of time, and also p1sses off the climber!
  25. Ratchet strap!.....Ratchet strap!! Oh I used to dream of having a ratchet strap. Shoe laces is what i used.....when i was wearing shoes that is.
