  1. A newish (or not much use anyway) 346xp. Needs a new case
  2. Been thinking of going limit for a while so i'll be talking to an accountant in the next few weeks. Apart from the increased accountancy fees and possible Corporation tax, does going Ltd increase any other overheads? Insurance companies always ask if your Ltd or sole trader so has anyone noticed a change in premiums after switching? Thanks Ed
  3. Very useful info Gardenkit, thanks I've always worried a bit too much about which grade oil to use in various machines resulting in me having four different types in my garage. Recently had a GX390 rebuilt and the mechanic recommended using straight 30.
  4. This is the second time during the years that I've owned Tw150's that I've had to replace a starter motor. Both times the new motors had an extra white wire that wasn't on the old motor. Works fine without connecting it to anything but just wondered what it's for?
  5. Has that been topped before - looks a thick trunk to taper so quickly. Looks a perfect candidate for a TPO, have a friendly chat with the TO. It's there job to protect nice trees, especially when in imminent risk.
  6. We stayed a night in Klamath in the Ravenwood motel. OK motel - sub$100 a night and one of the few motels that we stayed where you got breakfast. The best bit was the bar over the road, full of locals and this big old saw hanging from the ceiling.
  7. Steve, you do know that Simont has moved? He lives in Cambridge now, my old house. I wonder how many PM's he's had asking to buy it
  8. Is it now closed for ticket purchases?
  9. I've got a bit of experience with church accounts as i used to be treasurer for several year at the church where i was wed. So to clarify things, yes the CoE do have money and lots of property/land but the small parish churches are often very poor. Individual churches are self funding which is mainly from congregation donations, so if its a small congregation there is very little income. From this they pay the running costs (gas/elec/etc), large insurance costs, sizeable running repair costs (if it's an old church) as well as a large amount to the diocesan to cover their costs which include the expense of training/paying/housing vicars which your small church will probably share with three other churches. To answer the op question, put your fair price in - they don't expect you to work for nothing but please do be considerate if it's a small church.
  10. Next problem, Trying to remove an outboard clutch from a 357 without success Tried screw driver and mallet (reverse thread) with the piston stopped. Even tried making my own 3 pronged gismo. It seems stuck solid - any suggestions?
  11. Success! Bearing are bigger than seals so found that you can if pushing seal through onto bearing
  12. A very useful tip Steve. I'm struggling getting some old oil seals out. Can i just push the bearings and seal out together or is there a lip on the casing between them?
  13. Also will have to be picked up from Stihl due to there handover policy. Great prize - sham they don't keep it so that their future engineers know what a decent saw is and can base future models on it. I'll have to dig deep this year - this prize will probably double the tally.
  14. Cheers Steve, i'll measure it tomorrow but i'm thinking it might be best to go new. Have you bought from Forest World Ltd on ebay before?
  15. Back there again tomorrow and there may be too much to bring home.
  16. Ok crankcase split. The gudgeon and small bearings broke up whilst i was trying to get the pin out. The casing and crank looks ok to my untrained eye but this is the first time i've gone all the way. Might try the meteor cylinder kit and I've noticed a few new cranks on the market for around the £40, not sure whether it would be safer using one of these or if they are just poo.
  17. Yeah, went on my first cruise last May through the Panama canal. It was a good experience, i saw a small glimpse of many beautiful countries and the service onboard was exceptional - vast majority were Indonesian staff. I'm not in a desperate rush to do another one but i did enjoy it. Yes, almost all passengers are of pensionable age but i get on with oldies. Days at sea are a bit boring and they do like squeezing money out of you for non inclusive services.
  18. Finally got round to stripping down one of my 200T's. Piston is shot and it looks like it's taken the pot with it. Can i just slap a new p&p on it or will there likely be damage or fragments in the crank that I'll need to deal with?
  19. We got an internal flight to Crescent city, hired a car from the airport (shed) then took a leisurely drive down to SanFran over 4/5 days, dropping off the car there. Stayed at motels that we found on route. A day trip from SF might get you to the avenue of giants, which is a good area, but there are more awesome trees North of that.
  20. Won't say much as my licence is due for renewal but if i ever see Tony i'll shake his hand and buy him a drink.
  21. My home insurance is due for renewal very shortly and after reading the thread "Insurance... A word of warning", i thought that i would take a closer look at the small print, especially as i noticed that Post Office is underwritten by AXA who were mentioned in that thread. There's a few errors such as occupation on the policy so i know that i'll have to contact them for a re quote but the most worrying find is that it states the home is not used for trade/professional purposes which mine is. So i'd be interested to hear of any companies that should be avoided and what people pay for cover including declaring business use. My cover was £400k/£50k buildings, content. Thanks

    cable bracing

I also think that Cobra only go up to 8T, other brands may do different rating. You use to be able to get this type of strop for static bracing but i haven't seen it for a while and i doubt they would do strops long enough for your needs.
  23. Too right, I've seen him when Burrell doesn't bring cake! Good luck Steve but I don't think that you'll need it. I'm just wondering where the car park and waiting room will go.
  24. Hi Jon mate, I've got a BSA meteor that I might sell. Top gun mate. I was looking for £1000 but for you i'll do it for £800.
  25. I'd never do a chav rush in a store but i did take advantage of a couple of internet offers on things that i'd been meaning to buy for a while.
