  1. A bunch of these were bought for a hedge, the leftovers were planted in pots. The potted ones are all flowering, none of the planted hedge are. Any theories why?
  2. My son knows me well.
  3. This small cluster has been observed at the base of a big Maple for a year or two. Is it some type of ink cap? Is it anything to worry about?
  4. Outside of work?? Even when i had my Ducati most of the miles i did on it was quoting.
  5. Only met him the once when he came to give a talk to the class when I was at Easton. In that short time you could tell he was a goodun. RIP Mike.
  6. Great thread Adam. Another point: if brad wants repeat work, he's unlikely to refuse any tree unless it's a certain widow-maker, whereas the employee can phone the boss saying "too dodgy" at the slightest hangover.
  7. Very sad news indeed. As said, it's the climbers worst nightmare. On a couple of occasions i've just released a branch of chog to then see a groundie entering the edge of the drop zone. RIP.
  8. There's a guy called Tim in Exning that Peter and I know. Haven't spoken to him for a while but I could dig his number out if you want.
  9. He's probably already had more work experience than most politicians nowadays.
  10. I've never won on the horses but it's aways a good laugh going. If i'd have known your over these parts i could have organised a punt down the backs for you and eggs.
  11. Peter or Martin are both top blokes. If she's a looker I may be persuaded to take a trip to Hunts myself 😉
  12. £950 Cambridgeshire and I was told by the lady that I spoke with that they will only do it via dealing with registered traffic management companies so that pushed the cost of the closure that i was looking into to £2600+vat.
  13. Labour had 12 years with the country's credit card and you expect the conservatives to pay it of in 5 years - dream on. It's easier to spend it than to save it - Labour will give a very good demonstration of this once again if they regain power.
  14. That's a lot of bracket! An Ash that i took down last year with that amount of perenniporia bracket had very little sound wood left keeping it up.
  15. Now i'm confused. Am i allowed in the hot tub or not?
  16. Can i bring my James Blunt CD? We'll have to do skiing in 2016, i've got a cruise booked this year.
  17. Not if they're what i would call middle-class. I've never looked into any definitions of the classes but I would consider someone middle-classed if they had enough assets that they could potentially survive on without working. I don't and therefore have to work, therefore working class.
  18. Yes, I own and run may own business, have a mortgage, have been on exotic holidays these last two years but if I didn't work i couldn't survive therefore I am working class as I have to work.
  19. Sounds a good deal. I've had a new shape caddy since Oct and i'm loving it. I can fit the small stump grinder in the back, 1.6 diesel so MPG is excellent but it's still surprisingly nippy. Excellent quoting vehicle.
  20. It must be utter bliss living in Zimbabwe, Mugabe been elected since 1987!
  21. Agree 100%! The amount of revenue coming in during those years and labour squandered it and more. Remember the note that a Labour minister left on his desk as he left "there's no money left, good luck", says it all really. People seem to have very short memories.

    Pay

£100 a day works out at £26k, then your employer pays NIC on top of that so it's costing him closer to £30K without add ppe and benefits. I personally think that your on an excellent wage for two years experience and if i was your boss i would only consider upping it a little more IF you are the full package, i.e. Very good reduction skills, reliable and capable of the big rigging dismantles.
  23. Yeah, they come from Multitip/predator based in henley. Multitip is a patent product so you can only buy them from them. Trustworth company.
  24. Cherry, cherry, cherry & cherry. Good firewood.
  25. I don't see anything in those pictures that would really worry me. Re-pollard and monitor.
