Had a keyhole triple in 2005, 3 months off, keyhole double 2014, 6 weeks off, full cut open single 2015, 2 weeks off and climbing again after 6 weeks Best of luckwith your op mate!

Never leave anything of value in van overnight - even if insured, just not worth the risk, next days work ruined etc. Neighbour had his van done a few nights ago - only a Makita drill gone, but a busted lock to boot. They probably checked mine out too, but it's always empty.

Had problems with mine misfiring on supermarket fuel, but that was right from cold. Using BP or Shell now and it's fine. As it's when the hole gets deeper it possibly points to engine oil level - I think it's designed to cut out before the engine runs dry as the angle changes. Service agent topped mine right up to the top with engine oil and advised the level should be right up to the top of the filler hole. The fuel filler cap is a known weak point on these - got a Honda one fitted now. Hope these checks might help you!

I've had a couple of near misses also in Thailand, when dead fronds came down during the monsoon - surprising amount of weight in these which could do some serious injury!

Local known company, house dwellers, with sign written van started some connies last year - got sacked off halfway through by by the lady owner because they were appallingly cut. Also they'd been sending out ghost (repeat) invoices to elderly neighbours who have paid twice, with fake VAT on top. I was asked to put the trees right. I said give them at least 6 months to recover - now I have a job for life as they're starting to look half decent after just one proper cut. Got her rental property garden sorted out too, so it's a win win for me

Same problem here too with the 360. I've also had a throttle cable, two brake cables gone now at under 150 hours. The brake system is seriously flawed on these. Arbrep have been very good at getting parts out to me, but deny there's a problem - I've heard of enough to know that a redesign is needed. The Kohler engine also won't run on supermarket fuel - fair enough, easy to cure this. But it's also had a new exhaust as the first one shook itself to bits, a new carb under warranty (known weak point) and a new Honda petrol cap last week. When it's running it's a cracking machine, but I've lost a few days work with these probs. Will be looking at an HB20 as a replacement possibly.

Lovely craftsmanship there! Need to at least take a 50% deposit before work commences so you're at least covered for some of your time. Also get it all in writing, signed etc before starting a project for someone

We had a load nearby recently - Chelmsford Channels travellers: First look inside illegal camp that shut £1,100-a-year golf course | Essex Live What the article didn't mention was that they had been s*****ng all over the greens as well - dirty scum bags. They have toilets in their caravans but seem to think it's ok to do this? Same on a local industrial estate as well - mate works there and when his boss asked him to clean up land next to his firm after they had left he refused - toilet paper and mess all over the place

I've reported both items to ebay - bet they don't get taken down though. I've also asked one seller where he is exactly as I can't find his town on Streetmap. Said I wanted to pay cash on collection - will be interested to see what excuses I get, if any reply at all

If you check where the sellers are located - neither of them exist! The same for genuine saws at half the normal price - they don't exist

Just a simple Excel spreadsheet will get you going to start with (30 odd years in and it's still all I use for 2 businesses) - just update it as regularly as you can. I plan on doing it every time I turn on the pc but that always falls by the wayside! Keep your receipts in order - not covered in mud on the floor of the truck as this makes for hard work. If your accountant is any good, he will advise you on what you can and can't claim for etc, and any additional records he may want

The work will would still have been there tomorrow waiting to be done - the wedding is gone, never to be repeated. I'm as guilty as the next man with working too much - but sometimes you've just gotta take that time out!

I've also ordered some parts for my Predator 360 SW - the factory in the Czech Republic has been on two week shutdown so anything that has to be ordered is taking an age. I've been waiting over 3 weeks now and still no parts

A mate who's a fencer has both and he rates the Canter as a great weight carrier before it looks overloaded (up to 5ton allegedy). Very happy with both though and he's had them a few years

Not unusual to have customers ask to see insurance, certs etc. Just make sure you take detailed pictures of everything before, during and after the job as proof that nothing was damaged by you or your staff.

Don't take timber as part payment - tell them it'll be cheaper if they keep the whole lot, as you don't have to transport it, or it's part of the price to remove what they don't want. It has no, or very little value until split and seasoned, and even then, this is low grade firewood. Black walnut video anyone?
