  1. I’d guess it will depend on the size? Someone much more qualified than me will be along soon to advise!
  2. Have a read through the wee chipper club thread on here. All depends on how much you need to process and your budget
  3. This! Don’t wait for the redline going up your arm
  4. Yeah the traffic in Chelmsford pretty crap at the mo. I’ll look into lovedown farm, cheers!
  5. My regular sites are currently full so looking for additional place for chip, possibly some logs in Chelmsford or surrounding areas please.
  6. Gave up using Hermes as on average they were losing or damaging one in ten parcels! Too stressful continually chasing them to make claims so now use either ups or dpd for anything over 2kg. Lighter stuff goes Royal Mail Signed For
  7. Too right they don’t! Tried that with guy in high viz stopping a cyclist down a very quiet country lane as I dropped a conifer limb avoiding a bt line. Cyclist just went round him saying “oh it’s ok” - missed him by about 5 feet or half a second!
  8. Got a Portek one very similar from Jonesie earlier this year but not had a chance to use it yet
  9. Sunday is the 26th - so is this on saturday or sunday? ?
  10. Why are they being defiant about it? ? will fill in the survey this evening. I only sell about 6-10cube a year that I have left over from my own stove needs - buggered if I’m paying to be certified on top of it
  11. Explaining that would have been a bit auk-ward
  12. Shouldn’t have been such a gannet
  13. Spot on, too dear. 4”Spurs about £8 here plus bolts and will keep the heaviest fence up
  14. Had a sycamore we felled and ringed up yesterday to split today. About 24” stem 15ft long - normally love splitting this but it’s horrible, gnarly and a pita. Wish I’d given it away to my normal connie log collector. Portek 7ton impact splitter can’t touch it so starting off some lumps with x27 before using alko 4 ton hydraulic. Some pieces will be sawn into cubes, some may just go on the bonfire as it’s too labour intensive to get decent sized logs out of it.
  15. Spot on! And given the crime detection statistics for burglaries it’s probably nearer 50 - 60% iof that demographic are thieves!
  16. Great vid as always! Stay safe ?
  17. Probably the best, most sensible post on this subject since it was started!
  18. Normally have swallows here in Essex by mid April- far too cold now. Got the heating on again and glad to have a day of indoor logsplitting for a customer tomorrow as it’s gonna be a wet one ☹️
  19. Lost a days ground maintenance money when a big company I worked for went bust last year. 65m turnover, 300 employees redundant. I got away very lightly - mate who did their transport got shafted for 250k. I never let debts build up - I want paying in stages on bigger jobs. Good customers respect this, others can go elsewhere!
  20. Check that the sensor is close enough to the flywheel. Too far away and it can cause slow running, though it usually pulses rather than just runs slow
