  1. Managed to finish by 2pm but am completely goosed now. Going to reschedule tomorrow’s hawthorn reductions to next week and do a little hedge trimming and refit a gate in the shade
  2. My little JoBeau M200 would deal with that no problem so long as the blades are sharp, as should any good wee chipper. A 6” towable could be overkill unless there is a large quantity. whereabouts in the country are you? Someone on here near to you may offer a chipping service?
  3. That’s a cracking fish! Only ever caught A couple of zander, one in Holland about 30 odd years ago and only small at about 3lb and then another from the Ebro 4 years ago about same size
  4. New teeth always make a huge difference. Price jobs to include new teeth on every one or per number of stumps dependent on soil conditions. Resharpen if you have the time - can usually get one decent sharpen on multitips or rhino teeth
  5. Agreed totally - often road closed signs mean a side road or perhaps you can get through, but when I actually explained to drivers that cars were being turned around and being sent back? Yes I was being smug after all, I had tried to save them the hassle, wasted time, fuel etc one even said on the way back that she didn’t think it applied to her as she lived locally. i was glad to finish the job and let them get on with it.
  6. Because they were daft enough to ignore me when I explained that the road was definitely closed for resurfacing and they couldn’t get through. Decided to try anyway - can’t fix stupid!
  7. Was trimming roadside hedging recently on a back road, behind a bank of cones. Road closed sign 75m up from me as they were resurfacing and it was completely shut about a mile away. Must have told at least 100 drivers that it was closed and over half of them decided to try their luck. Told you so was a pleasure to say as they trundled back up the road after their five point turns 👍
  8. They didn’t even tell the customer - just said they’d be back with cherry picker to finish 3 leylandis overhanging the roof and next doors shed by 15 - 20ft. Was a hard day climbing and rigging but we had them done and dusted in 1 1/2 days with no damages. Back to grind in a couple of weeks and got 2 days next door that we picked up at the same time. Every cloud 👍
  9. Started at a new customers recently that had work done by a “reputable” local company in the spring. After churning the garden up with a cherry picker, this is the result a few months later. Nothing we can do with these! they also started removing a line of leylandi, broke an asbestos roof. Got paid for 3/4 of the job then refused to answer the phone to do repairs or finish the job.
  10. Reading about the Maunfield brand it seems to be assembled in various European countries, plus turkey and China. in the about us blurb it reads like a google translate of something foreign into English- or done by someone for whom English isn’t their first language
  11. I use 3mm nylium starling on a large Echo strimmer, forget the number offhand but also on a KM56 with no bother. Just got to learn to work the machine within its limitations. Tomorrow tackling 3/4 acre that has been left for 2 years since were last there. Supposed to be formal gardens and house up for sale soon so now they want it looking nice again. Had it looking 80%there after reclaiming it from a jungle before. Customers eh?!
  12. I quite like mine - get the balance point right and do all the cutting from ground to about shoulder height then readjust to do the next level. It’s not perfect by any means but definitely and elbow and shoulder saver on long jobs
  13. I removed a hedge on a bank, thought I’d winch it out no problem. Ground was hard as concrete and every stem snapped. Was due to dig it out and put footings in for a wall - two hours in and two of us had made a very poor start on it. Digger driver over the road just finishing his day so I asked him how much - he said give me 40 quid! Had the 12 foot trench all done and loaded into my truck in 20 mins so he got a good drink on top as well 👍 as for the thread - wee chipper all the way, at least 15hp and sharp blades
  14. Still no image here either?
  15. We use Eco plugs - usually get in boxes of 100 but smaller quantities available on eBay. Correct drill bit required for inserting them.
  16. If you google overhanging tree becomes a saw point that’ll bring it up for you stubby - took me a few tries with the link before I did it that way 👍
  17. Aah yes - see it now, my bad 😂
  18. Can only see part of that picture?
  19. The physics are all wrong with that set up- ram needs to be much further towards the cab. I’d let someone else buy that and have to sort it out - save your hard earned and look for a better example
  20. Some sound advice there. Have had some brilliant deals and some not so good. Always been to see vehicles first in person though, not with cash in pocket unless with at least one mate. on the other side of the coin though - if I sell a chipper or whatever, there is no way I’m having buyers come to my house where all my gear is stored. they can meet me on a job, see the machine in action and I’ll have all appropriate paperwork, copies of original receipts etc with me. always buyer beware, but also sellers need to be very careful as well

    Like this one? 😏
  22. And we can guarantee there won’t be any kind of outcry about this death, on any scale like the George Floyd death though this one is potentially even worse. the first link doesn’t open for me
  23. Bodge it and leggit 😂 nasty!
  24. Part albino blackbird yesterday- phone photo so quality not great
  25. Did a medium sycamore removal over one a few weeks ago. Put a thick brash mat down, lowered everything I could and did manageable chogs from the last 15ft or so. I had also tarped the whole area so make the clean up easier. Took a bit longer than normal but priced accordingly. Left it immaculate and customer was happy 👍
