  1. so you are prepared to wait 6 months for some customers? Do you charge an extra 10% on top if you have to wait that long or do you simply swallow it? I shi* the bed after 5 days if the money isn't in my account. If they make you wait that long they are making a fool out of you and you are making a fool out of yerself. When i go to Tesco or Aldi fer me food shopping and a tank of diesel i know how much i can afford to spend and i pay up pronto like. If customers query my payment terms i simply recite my mantra.
  2. thas the exact same way as i do it.
  3. apologies if this has been posted before.
  4. Just dunno if i shud blow some of my hard earned cash or finance a deal on a new or used machine and keep my money back for rainy days etc?
  5. when i was on utilities i noticed the paint finish on Jensens was poor, or was it the prep before the orange paint was applied i wonder? Either way the bossman said the finish was fairly poor and some machines looked 'well worn' after a few months use.
  6. I like turntable chippers as you can generally leave them hitched up and rotate the infeed hopper and discharge to suit without the need to unhitch when faced with a tight nadgery driveway. I know Jensen's A530 and A540 are supposed to be brilliant machines and i have used them a lot in the past but never actually owned one. What about the turntable versions though, is there any reason to suspect they are not as good as the standard non turntable version?? Opinions please. Below is an example of one i have seen for sale online. Thanks in advance. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2011-JENSEN-A540-TURNTABLE-CHIPPER-WOODCHIPPER-8-250-HOURS-KUBOTA-ENGINE/182888527103?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649

  11. i looked at the pic Wyk put up but i don't understand it, is he simply saying you need to sharpen the chain teeth back some in order to reduce the judder or is he saying something else!!??
  12. Hi I had the same complaint after replacing the chain on my 360TES too. It was so bad i took the chain back to the local dealer and complained and they swapped it for a different spec. chain which solved the problem. It was dangerous in my opinion. When i mentioned it on here a 2/3 years ago another Arbtalk member replied by saying 'i bet that chain is a blah blah blah' and when i checked the box it had come in he was bang on the money! He explained to me that it was indeed too aggressive in his opinion and said i shud replace it asap.
  13. oak log? 3.2 ton i reckon?

  17. apparently it's had a recent revamp Jon, i tend to avoid it as i class it as a place for 'incomers and grockles' (says me the immigrant!!!) I hear good tings about the food and beer there so i may frequent the place one evening with my princess.
  18. Marcus ya gonna show us a pic of it with yer daughter at the wheel maybe.....?
  19. ahhh i tink there is a Bickleigh near Newton Abott too!
  20. Tel, They are from what i have seen to be 'medium and large' trees. I tink it's more to do with safety in mind as they apparently are NOT clear felling the each site and it appears to be roadside stuff only. I reckon it's possibly a knee jerk reaction and won't be successful ala the badger cull which in my opinion was a waste of time. Les wait and see if there is a break through within the scientific community in the next decade or so as they may come up with a disease resistant, dominant strain that cud save the day.
  21. I believe so Stubby, i read summit about resistant ash trees last year and from what i can remember some clever bods in white coats were analysing the characteristics and most likely collecting seed samples to experiment with.
  22. well they are literally 30-35 mins away from the cutting site so yes i consider them to be classed as local.
  23. Ace Arb from Exmuff are the crew taking these Ash out.
  24. low box is vital on any 4x4 truck in my opinion as you have more slow speed control and traction, plus when ya load the bejaysus out of it you can use low box get ya out of trouble.
  25. Ash removals are starting in Mid Devon at the end of next week. It's literally 4 miles down the hill from me at Bickleigh where Chalara was brought into Devon on root stock from over seas. 60 tree are coming out to begin with. be interesting to see where this goes in the future. It was on BBC Radio Devon the other day, the interview starts at 1hr 17secs http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p05s14t0
