  1. I was gonna buy a BR450....then i thought Nope oil buy the new BR700 (4Mix) as everyone says bigger is better. Then as i'm a bit of a fan of Echo kit oil buy a PB770 backpack blower. I Had some spare dollar and was about to buy a new one when a fellow arb chap who buys and sells used saws, blowers, mowers etc at auctions or from councils when it came time to upgrade their kit advertised 3 Echo PB770's at £120 each, I was a bit dubious at first but when i viewed them all the serial numbers were intact and they were all etched up with additional letters and numbers relating to the department to which they had belonged to. I picked the best one of the 3 and got it for £100 along with a receipt on his headed paper. Tis the best money i have spent in a long time.
  2. The Small family i bet. He went on to claim 'he had found God' and was repenting. They knocked off TimberCutterDartmoor i believe.
  3. I bought one and use it solely on my Echo CS 2511 TES. I think it's just too long at full or part extension even for a gibbon with overly long arms. As stated above you need to be careful not to drop the saw if you are not to high off the ground as you could stab a groundie in the head with the chain and bar or poke the saw thru that greenhouse glass roof you've been trying hard to avoid. I'm not really sure whether i like it or not but if there was a shorter one available i may find that variant less likely to coil up awkwardly.
  4. thicker, really?
  5. Here are some pics of a beech I looked at today. I scrolled thru the Arbtalk fungus app and I'm not sure what type it is. Hopefully you can zoom in and see clearly what it may be. Thanks, Ken
  6. As stated above. Clean chip and logs.
  7. Buy a Li battery saw.
  8. Agree on using the decomp to help reduce stress on the starter cord/pawls etc. Where in Wickla are ya staying Wes as yer on my manor now!!!?? Must buy yew a beverage if i'm over dare fer Christmas. Spud, don't mock 'the hood' man!
  9. shud send my 360 yo u fer tuning, it has a 'de-cat' exhaust which shud make a difference. I reckon a muff modded one wood give a MS200T a run fer it's money. Wonder how they wood react to porting? Shud send about 7 saws to you really!
  10. JP, Yes yew can fit the 1/4 b&c to the 360TES. Bear in mind though, those tiny chains are no as robust as a 'chunkier' 3/8ths. Make sure you have removed the spark screen, that saw is quite different to the 2511 TES in that it takes quite a few tank fulls for it to loosen up. The 360 is quite a robust saw and will swerve you well. Failing that my mate has a mint low mileage stihl 201T fer sale if ya can't gel with the Echo.
  11. more shock than confusion as I had no idea tractor tyres are so expensive!
  12. Billhook, is that Stiga mower 4x4 ?
  13. yes I couldn't resist buying one of those too!
  14. bought an aldi retractable air line too and mounted it outside me garage, onto the wall. I drilled a small hole thru the door frame and ran the short air supply line thru it to the compressor that lives within. I got tired of blowing out saws all over me boikes and work bench and generally making a mess. I now have 2 air lines, 1 inside the garage and 1 outside....much nicer blowing out stuff outdoors. The exterior airline means I can now easily check the vehicles tyre pressures and when i'm done it all retracts back into the holder neatly and me n' she aren't tripping over a coiled up mess of airline on the floor. it's so good I bought one fer me neighbour too.
  15. not that i'm aware of Bill.
  16. this is why I split the air filter, blow it out with the airline, rinse it in brake cleaner. I then stick me thumb over the air inlet and blow out the area around where the 'carb' is. My fave saw atm is an Echo 2511 TES as it 's super light and compact and punches way above it weight. 560xp is a good saw but I dunno how long it'll last compared to a trusty 357xp I have.
  17. I have the 280TES climbing saw and I find it a bit uninspiring to be honest, despite converting it to 0.43 chain and bar. It's ok but absolutely nowhere as good as my 2511TES.
  18. bad luck there as I reckon that glass is pricey. Is that the glass fitter in the pic ?
  19. And anudder one who is worthy of a mention is David Dobedoe, who as it happens is an Arbtalk member. Had him on a big job during the summer for 5 days. The guy ain't been in the game that long but has a work ethic and doesn't like standing still. I had to leave site several times during the week and was impressed to return to site to find him spiking up a tree or ringing up big stems and generally keeping busy. It's great not having to ask someone to do something or having to ask them 'to at least try and look busy'.
  20. Hello all, I have logged in to the Arb Assoc. website but I cannot seem to find any blank RA forms or templates. Has anyone else had problems with the AA site as I need to download a Risky for a job I have on Saturday. We don't usually do written riskys unless there is 5 or more of us onsite or we have to do it to satisfy the needs of a particular customer, which in this case is a special needs school so I need to do RAMS. Thank You, Ken
  21. that is silliness on Echo Canadas behalf, that saw will be utterly useless on a 14'' bar and chain.
  22. good stuff, i'll do some more reading. Thank you.
  23. Hello All, I have been asked to ID any potentially poisonous trees on a site where special needs kids frequent. Apart from the usual Laburnum and Yew is there any other shrub / ornamental trees i should be looking out for ?? Thanks very much.
  24. chequer plate alloy sides but i'd use steel box section instead of alloy.
  25. what do you mean Fen, the overall condition of the truck or the paperwork side of things?
