  1. sounds like you have a good understanding of the regs. it's a lot to take on board!
  2. wonder if he's in the USofA right now?
  3. dare is, their is errrr there is some decent content on there. I don't take any of the 'bs' too seriously and see it as people just blowing off steam albeit macho steam. Facebook has detracted from traditional website forums and it has also hit Ebay badly as it's so easy to sell stuff on there. I find ebay a bit cumbersome when it comes to selling anything so FB makes more sense plus there are no fees to deal with. I find FB easier to follow my 'tree friends' when it comes to work related posts and pics etc. There is some serious crap on there that you have to unsubscribe from or ignore if you want a sane experience.
  4. not as easy in my humble onion. The 160T is a great pruning saw but show it an average dismantle and they really do struggle, whereas the MS150Tor the CS2511T just keep on cutting when the stems get fatter.
  5. can we see a pic of it please?
  6. well i must have heard it somewhere along the line and it kind of stuck with me, so i always thought a single cab Hilux was never allowed to do 70mph on the motorway. I wonder is this why some pickup manufacturers offer those 'space cab', extra cab', 'sports cab' variants which more or less give you almost the same bed length as a single cab but since they are a 4 seater you can tank along the motorway at 70mph versus 60mph?
  7. i don't tink so OWC. me tinks a double cab transit is legally allowed to do more MPH over the single cab variant.
  8. i couldn't figger out why the other guy that was holding the kid by the arm didn't simply pull the child to safety. It Looked a bit fake to me. That immigrant shudda been around when ole Wacko Jacko dangled his kid off of a hotel balcony.
  9. i was tinkin' the same ting Martin. Plus it seems to move around when it recoils. Does look quite good though.
  10. sounds like hoss shi* !
  11. go on then bud, do a video of you cutting open the bar with an angle grinder and the spare sprocket falling out floor!
  12. Hi G, i have no idea what spare sprocket you are referring to?
  13. hi and welcome Swampie, i rented the same machine recently and gave up after 3 hours of trying to chip green stuff. I did research on said model afterwards only to find they are a pig to use, one Arbtalk member actually had a new infeed hopper fabricated to help overcome these problems. It was so bad we cut and stacked all the brash and went back with my road tow chipper the next day and endured the long drag to get it processed, this ate into my profit margin big time. My advice to you is to sell that machine and buy a Greenmech CS100.
  14. put it writing to both parties (i usually email it thru) explaining that you would recommend removal as opposed to skinning them up one sided. Explain they will look rough afterwards if skinned up and they will not 'recover or look good again' then offer 2 prices, 1 for complete removal and 1 for skinning them up. The way i look at it is this, if you really don't want to do it then walk away and let someone else do it. Or price it up and get on with it. I sometimes show customers photographs of 'hacked back' trees in a bid to dissuade them from having the same type of work carried out, if they say 'do it regardless' then i do just that.
  15. best of luck to them.
  16. you gonna keep goin on about thet Merc or are ya gonna show us some 'readers wives' type of pics please. Interested to see the tyres, undersealing and any udder mods you have had done. Sounds ideal for yer new venture.
  17. Love yer set up Bill, i've been keeping an eye out for a Stiga too
  18. Pete i tink there are 4 and 6 cylinder variants of the Phaser enjun.
  19. yep i use way back machine ferra Yamaha Forum i have contributed alot to, some old gold info stored on them thar sites.
  20. it looks like a nice piece of beef in that first pic @Toby Yeoman
  21. very wise words there Timon.
  22. Mick what kinda ground protection boards do ya use?
  23. correct, along with either the incorrect type of engine oil or trying to bump start them!
  24. I run a 2002 MK6 Transit (2.4DI) and last December my mechanic and I replaced the timing chain kit which included all the sprockets, guides and the tensioner. It was a big enough job to do. I felt the need to do this as i incorrectly assumed the timing was slightly out, plus i had no service history with the van. There are at least 2 different types of cam chain tensioner and i wanted to ensure i was fitting the one deemed to be the better. I bought a service kit which locked the timing in position, this made it easier upon reassembly as you can check and double check it's spot on before start up. It quietened my engine down a bit.
  25. yew can retrofit them to some vehicles, I had auto hubs on mine but i prefer manual hubs. On some pickups like the older Ford Ranger you can mod the wiring and fit an isolation switch to temporarily take the front axle out of the equation when you select 4L, thus giving you the '2L' option. The way i look at it is this, i would prefer to give the gearbox and clutch an easy time of it when it comes to pulling away on a steep hill or moving a heavy trailer around, I could leave it in 2H and gun the beans out of it and slip the clutch if the need arises but i choose to take the mechanical stress out of it by using '2L' where required. Me Isuzu pickup is 18 years old, done 130k (miles) and is stihl on the original clutch it left the factory with back in 2000.
