  1. Just picked this up from Canterbury borough council website... You must give the city council 6 weeks notice, in writing, of your intention to do any work to trees in a Conservation Area. You must not carry out any work during the six week period, which starts from the date of receipt of your notification by the council, unless you receive written permission to do so.
  2. Problem being in London we deal with so many councils and they are all so different in how they look at applications, so it really is their fault if take 2-3 weeks to put an application on their system. Some times we also have very strict time restraint to work to.
  3. I think you will find they should play by the rules of the law.. rather than their rules. I almost positive that once they have received it, that's when the clock starts. That's why it's called six week notice.
  4. But shouldn't it be from when you give them notice. I don't want to waste 2 weeks while it travels from one side of the office to the next!
  5. I know that there is a six week notice for conservation application... but is it six weeks from when you send it in and it has been received by them or when it goes on their system. So if I email it is that the date the email is sent, and of course that is checked by the servers, or is it when they say. I think it's the time that I serve it on them, it's not my fault they can't pull their fingers out in time.
  6. Hey it's a lime.. have you seen what they do to the street trees.... Actually we once did a test of doing three identical limes in a row all differently, with various degrees of hardness, in the reduction department, and three weeks later they all look the same. And it's probably what the client requested, hey i'll do anything for money I will always give options and consequences but if it's legal I will do it.
  7. We took the weight out of one of these to day... due to a very similar state. We target pruned it but hit it hard ish, it is an ash after all
  8. I think you always need to look at the year long graph (in fact all of them)!

  19. I have the vermeer bc150 and it has over heating issues, as discussed before. I am going to change the radiator fluids and thought while it's out i might as well remove it and clean the grill. Kevin at B Trac suggested if I was going to do that I would need to clean the corners especially, eg not where the fan blows, but to do it with steam and not just a jet wash, to get it really clean. I'm a bit miffed as to what is required. Do I hire the machine or do I find some one who's got one, and who is likely to have one. Do you think the hand carwash people will have a proper steam cleaner? Also will it damage the fins?
  20. Imperative I beleive.. at least 2 tree surgeons at one time usually suffices:thumbup1:
