  1. I've got a blackberry! virtual keyboards suck, but the smart phones just do everything, in one, less crap in my pockets
  2. Can I like the 'Legend" then.... perhaps not.. that sounds uber gay:biggrin:
  3. Oh and I suppose being a "diehard mac fan" makes me gay too:thumbup: Suppose I must be then!
  4. How's about the HTC Desire... mmmmmm, way cheaper than the iphone, I'm looking at both really hard, Android operating system?, oh and I'm a diehard mac fan!
  5. I think it maybe an idea to have a presence in yellow pages, but I wouldn't spend anything on Yell.com, have you seen how many adverts there are in there... Ask yourself... do you use Yell.com? or maybe google? ARBCLIMBER is offering an alternative service for your marketing needs.
  6. We hired a 50 ton crane the other day and it picked up 6t at 15m very happily but the hire man said that pick up weight is drastically reduced as you go out, then you are talking big cranes which equal serious big money. The butt on the london plane that we picked up was around 8ft long and around 4ft diameter and that weighed in at around 4t. It was a really heavy bit of wood, so i reckon oak ain't far off that, and with cranes you can't get it wrong.
  7. It's so perfect it kinda looks photoshopped, especially round the base of the rock, do you think someone put it there as an art installation?
  8. I've had a 35c14 on a 05 plate for just under 6 months... The power is just brilliant, feels like a proper truck. Does drink the juice though, perhaps a bit of remapping wouldn't go amiss, and maybe some of those BFG (?)tyres that everyone goes on about for the rear.
  9. Defo Mimosa... really close to the house imo, I would suggest to fell because they usually grow like loonies, and when you cut them they get bigger faster.
  10. Just brought a new rope:thumbup: but the eye is really small, I can just about fit the crab into the eye, but it doesn't go over the locking mechinism. Am I being an old school git and not up to date with me climbing technique? I have me prussic in the crab at all times then feed the rope over the branch and lock end of the rope into the crab. But once it is in it won't go to the top as the eye is too small. The alternative is to arse around feeding the prussic in afterwards:thumbdown: which is really unsafe.
  11. VERMEER SC252 TREE STUMP GRINDER CUTTER 04 EXCELLENT on eBay (end time 04-Jun-10 23:23:19 BST) Looks like it has a few distinctive marks on it, not that I'm saying it's stolen, but...
  12. I have an RG13 stumpy and the guys had problems locking the wheel to be able to sharpen with the diamond wheel. Any ideas... perhaps I need to just do it myself!
  13. Is this a good idea or really dangerous [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlBXjE4w5zk&NR=1]YouTube - CEPAC ZA DRVA[/ame]
  14. Hey Frank, I'm in west london, I can get facilities to remove large amount of timber relatively cheaply, do you want me to look at it? We are always doing narrow access works, pm me.
  15. Don't get to see much but love it when I do. (don't have sky sports, I'm not that into it.) But really looking forward to the world cup.
  16. This is such a crap situation to be in, you have such knowledge, perhaps you could start taking people out on your wanderings in the country side and charge something for your wonderful know how? Perhaps as monkey'd says approach capel or merrist wood and take people on field trips, or even consultancy work where perhaps the director of the company would authorise your findings? I know of a consultancy firm in yorkshire who work in the south east who could probably use you, pm me and I will pass you their details back. They are real nice guys.
  17. Why don't you try and flog these photos to a national paper? A bit of free cash to try and justify having to stop short. They are cool!
  18. Hey up stranger... good to see you again! Missed your excellent input.
  19. Dry(?) washing up liquid (eg with out water added) put on with a bit of tissue
  20. Contact Arbclimber on here... he is offering an alternative to yell etc on marketing.
  21. NNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! Don't do it. Once you are in their grasp they will take your money, like all the rest of them. The work to cost ratio is really bad. Have you ever heard of them? Think, would you use them? No one goes near yell.com let alone these people. But that's only my opinion. Always google 'name of the company' then review afterwards. If you get a free listing keep it that way
  22. In fact 2nd thoughts, if you want it, it's yours you just need to arrange transport for it. Will need one person to take the lot in one go. unless you have another idea. Probably 10tonnes-ish. It's all good wood, not rotten, we will take all the brush off it, it's just needs to all go on the sunday. It's in Ealing with good access to the A4/M4 and A40/M40.
  23. Hi I am taking down 2 large planes trees and 2 not so large lime trees this sunday. Does any body want to purchase, at a very reasonable rate, this timber? The butt of the larger plane is big, not tall (15') 2+tonnes, perhaps someone would want to mill it. There is a lot of straight stems in the planes. We have a crane on sunday so could stack straight onto a truck. Need site cleared that day. Any questions, please talk to me very soon. Adam 07779352664
