  1. Looking at an Iveco Daily. As opposed to a transit. Their either 6.5t or 7t depending on its hp. What shall I go for Transit or Daily?
  2. So.... does that mean you can load up to 7t where ever the weight is - load on the truck or trailer? so could you in theory could you whack 3t's on the back of the truck?
  3. Morning All, Can I have your interpretation of GTW.. So if a vehicle is a 3.5t'er and it's plated to 7t and you are towing a 1.3t chipper, can you then load the vehicle up to a max of 7t (incl towing thingy) or are you limited to the vehicle being a max of 3.5t, plus whatever your towing so long as it doesn't exceed the plate. Can we go definitive on this and what's your qualification. Haha Cheers..
  4. Only recognised you from the one quote about L B Ealing, then the dog then the algarve. Hope your well and doing loads of business. I'm still (very occasionally) getting your emails. Talk soon Adam

  5. Printed on the quote....Payment upon completion unless by prior arrangement (50 quid admin fee if not paid).... funny how I have money in my account now..
  6. Nice Vid. Can I ask what camera you use for this as it seems real good quality. That's a big ole beech as well!!! Nice job.
  7. I think you also need to get them CE marked. Europe sounds like a good line of enquiry, but I did this a few years ago when the euro was not strong and they wouldn't sell to me in the UK, so if you know someone who has a dutch address or maybe get a second hand machine.. but technically they must sell you a machine as we are in Europe... Good Luck and post your findings.
  8. what would they be listed under at screwfix. cheers
  9. Oh BTW the council didn't get back to me. I was going to put a derogatory word in there but they will just wipe my message. Is that cause I'm a junior member, after reading other posts?
  10. I do scan the planning portal form ( I just can't be doing with the planning portal website!) then email it and wait for confirmation then wait till either the LA website is updated with permission (or not in this case), or of course in the case of TPO's waiting for the written permission to be in me grubby little hands. Thanks everyone for their input. Adam
  11. that's a cracking set of photo's. oh dear that was bad.
  12. If I have to do a fell with an 088 it's worth tightening up the chain to prevent throw, unless your feeling very rich. Also get the chain spinning before you transition from vertical to horizontal
  13. OR. you could get a big hiab (or even a crane) in there for 4-500 for the day and get it down in a day and leave it neatly stacked and put in for 2 days for 3 guys, which will leave you to earn more money tomorrow. Don't forget the old spare chains etc etc. See how big you can leave the bits of timber for the client.
  14. I've seen loads of people with the road signs that go on cones, any idea where I can buy some ready made, or do I need to get some strapping and some rivets and do it myself. Also I hear they're illegal, is this because they are light, cheap and efficient?
  15. In a conservation area you don’t make an application. You file a notification of intent called a “211”. The LA than has 6 weeks to either protect the tree (with a TPO) or allow you to carry out the works outlined in your “211” this is from a message sent to myself. thank you very much.
  16. Just had an email from the client who is nervous, and I did just see that she is a solicitor. Mmmm me thinks I'm going to get that paper work. Will post here if I remember.
  17. Just spoke to a consultant mate and he said that they cannot refuse the works for a tree in a conservation area, they can only either agree to it or make a TPO. He said he would back it up if necessary with the various documentation.
  18. I'm sure they have to put a TPO on it if they refuse, but some trees don't come up to spec to have a TPO put on them. So they may just say they are refusing but .. not really. if you see what I mean.
  19. Hello people, I was talking to a tree officer a few years ago and he said if the council refuse your application to fell a tree in a conservation area but didn't put a tpo on it then you could proceed. Just had another situation like this. Any comments or ideas?
  20. I'm sure I saw a thing where the council are exempt. Brilliant!
  21. http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/commondata/acrobat/guidance_wmc2_1575912.pdf I think this defines the agricultural land use part of the exemption, but then it says horticulture. Is that on a commercial basis, as all gardens are horticulture.
  22. And if it's all going to be recycled at the old local bio mass generator? Basically i've been asked by a contractor on the olympic site for a waste transfer license, I've said we don't need one, but he needs proof. I went for an AA pre members course and they put the argument that arborists didn't need the transfer license. Can you clarify this? (everything is recycled)
  23. I have just read that agricultural waste is exempt, on the environ agency website. Then on the HSE web site its class' arboriculture under agriculture. Does that mean we are exempt? http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/business/444304/444641/1789660/1575883/1575892/?lang=_e http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/ais30.pdf
