  1. If your going for a MS 250.. go for the MS 260 as it's the heavy duty professional version. Everyone can mail order for around a tenner. Try Buxtons.net
  2. SEASONED HARDWOOD LOGS on eBay (end time 25-Jan-10 17:23:49 GMT) Wonder if there is a reserve?
  3. This looks like a different way to sorting out dragged wood. Is this machine over here. Has anyone used one? Firewood Processors Chomper Rainier If you look for the video thread and select what you need. Is that really cool, with the shear, or is it not really cool, and just very silly?
  4. For the first couple of years of tree surgery, I used to use a guide every 3rd of 4th sharpen just to get it all back in shape, and after a couple of years you should have the knack. Some people never get it though, I suppose.
  5. £5100 only... did someone on here get it?
  6. Some interesting skills and tools used, and just the sheer size of what they were dealing with. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcEto_Q8MlY&feature=quicklist]YouTube - Redwood Lumber Industry, Northern California - 1947[/ame]
  7. Hey Rupe, does that operate horizontally as well, and does it have a four way splitter, and what did you have for breakfast. Haha

  9. It's still there. Has anyone gone to see it. Still only 1 bid. I think it's going to go mad in the last minutes.
  10. Tipmaster I think quoted me £3-4000!!!!!!!!!!! if they use the base already on the truck. crazy bucks if you think that your just going to "tree surgery" it into the ground.
  11. My chip box is constructed out of the aluminium they use for the airline containers. I don't think the construction is perfect so I need to do a couple of minor changes, but will take photos of the construction etc and how the boards are attached etc, then give it a weigh. Don't know what the original weight was (shame on me).
  12. But if you work out how much wood costs then you have to construct it, and then you look like the caravan dwellers. Smart trucks are your advertising.
  13. Ahh, that's just what I wanted to know. I'm doing thin ply at the sides (which I tried to glue, but will reinforce with rivets) and 18mm as the firing board. Will take photos and post... just for a laugh, of course. Can someone tell me how to whack photies on here. Cheers
  14. Is it just that time of year.. lot of desperate people. And if you do quote low they don't take you up on your quote until your really busy... put a time limit on your quote.
  15. Hey Dan, I don't think you should list you email on a forum... I think.
  16. or Cut it down as low as you can leaving 4 or 5 growing points, re-stake then dress in what's left, do the same with the other and train over the years to create a screen from the other houses. Cheap as. __________________ Cut it to around knee height in may after the last frosts, to stimulate dormant buds, 90% success rate.
  17. The main man North of the border is due His 10,000th post. What do we get a man with no life.:lol: Only joking mate
  18. Wood Chipper - Vermeer BC1000i on eBay (end time 24-Jan-10 15:21:01 GMT) Could be a bargain at the moment...
  19. Another thought... if you are going for a tranny consider the old smiley face's over the new shape ones, as the old smiley's are built for the abuse that we put them through. So if you have an old one it maybe worth spending a load of dosh on it to keep it running. Or maybe an iveco daily... oooooooerrrrrr! That's put a spanner in the works. (but not if you want to go off road. Apparently too low slung, unless you get a new one.) O even a 4wd iveco.. oops think I just... iveco porn:thumbup::thumbup:
  20. It is ali sheeting, that's why I want to line with something light to protect it, as the old vermeer chucks chip out at a serious rate. Ply or steel or is grp strong? On my old boxes which were made from marine ply (Yes they weighed a ton-literally) I would double the thickness at the strike area then replace when that bit wore out.
  21. Will take some tomorrow and post then
