  1. Superb - I bow my head!
  2. Does the chain rotate when you pull it over to start it? If so is most likely the needle bearing the sprocket sits on. An easy fix.
  3. Looks good Mike what sort of engraver are you using?
  4. Reading this thread I've thought about seeing about carrying one. The posts against it seem to say its medics territory but don't give any reasons. Are they dangerous? What are the side effects? What happens if you have not had a bad reaction but in error use it? Let's have some facts please!! I appreciate severe reactions are rare but getting stung by something nasty could happen to anyone at anytime (even if you of course try to avoid it). And in this job you have a much greater chance than most.

    Ms 660

It seems strange to me how many of the older saws i.e. 066, 08 etc still seem to be around yet the newer 660 and 880s just don't seem to last. I know people may say 'but my 660 has been fine for 8 years' but then it may have been rarely used in that 8 years. I always sell my MS880s after a year/18 months or so as I can't handle the hassal... Problems idling etc.
  6. The reason you don't see much of vat in firewood sales is that it is 5% to the domestic user and most vat reg people will just pay that themselves without too much fuss.... it's not as harsh as 20%!
  7. You should be fine swapping and changing bars between these saws as they both have the Oregon K095 mount.
  8. Nice James and thanks for taking the time to put some pics up... hmmm may even pinch a couple as it illustrates very well how a longer Alaskan will fit on a smaller saw. You should be pretty fast through timber that wide even with a smaller saw like the MS361. Can you time a cut next time to get a ft/min figure?
  9. Lovely Tom - good load of saw dust to boot! Ho ho! Yes beech is an excellent indoor timber yet as Big J said people are on the whole obsessed by oak.
  10. Stihl do have an angled head (you have to buy this 'in between' bit that then gives the angle!). Worked well when I had one.
  11. Can't beat the above posts! I've found a very easy way of doing legs that look good. Will put up some pics tom.
  12. "Jog on mate just jog on" Why don't you try some jogging love and save the NHS a small fortune in a couple of years! Sorry you'd have to have seen the clip to see the relevance but again just a terrible thing to watch......
  13. I've read this post several times.... ... I can't understand what you're saying and/or what your point is?
  14. 3 ft by 2 ft is pretty millable... Get some good coffee tables out of it.
  15. I worked out last year I was getting the same amount for delivering a cubic meter of logs as delivering a cubic meter of bagged netted logs.... ... won't be doing them this year! Great if you have a direct outlet.... not so great if you're getting £2-50 a bag.
  16. I think just put them down humanely. Looking at some of them is the most ultimately depressing thing- 'Polish taking our jobs what we s'pposed to do?' I mean it goes beyond language to convey what you think of them Looking at some of the other footage it was great to see the police knocking them off bikes and getting stuck in.
  17. There may be some truth in that. Why not have say 2/3 in full riot gear and the other third all in trainers and more lightly clothed to do the running and catching. They all charge in together and pick say 6 up at a time. At least mix it up and try some different tactics, different ideas.
  18. Ditto Rick. Young people have it better today with more opportunitys than they have ever had anytime before in history. Back to old fashioned values and discipline.
  19. It almost feels unreal..... Now I am questioning where will it end? They got away with it all last night so they will be getting a good days sleep for tonight.
  20. They will get control of this even if it means the army in and a curfew. Best thing to do now surely is to shut down the blackberry network and twitter so they can't co ordinate with each other.
  21. I know what you mean Steve. But they'll get control of this over the next couple of days then start hunting down the little thugs. But what then? A trip in and out of court? 2 weeks in prison? Why not a boot style army camp, get em out working on community projects a bit like bad lads army but without any get out clause
  22. Stylish Martyn - weirdly looked massive in the first pic! Good work.
  23. Trouble is what do you do these days? On the one hand get stuck in and bang some heads - bound to be some innocent people caught up in that and a backlash later down the line..... What do you do when you've caught them? No prison space left.... Been watching for 3 hours and it does just seem like young kids riding bikes on their phones. No easy answer. Hope doesn't get closer to you Rich!
  24. One day they will have a serious accident..... .... and no doubt be claiming disability allowance the rest of their lives Don't worry about it. And unless the customer is an old age pensioner bullied into the work the customer has chosen them.... let the customer worry about it.
  25. I'll see about doing it next time I make one! Mind you this is my trademark piece so wouldn't want to inspire too many people !
