Dead easy Mick, as said though! Soak them and then turn them. If the tip is missing and the wound fresh then take head off. But if the tip is burnt away, then don't worry.

They weren't bad little chippers tbh. Some jobs where a bit fiddly when they got old but on the whole, fine. Make sure of its provenance and ensure that it has the correct indeed chute/bar as that could another grand!

Try replacing the two springs that pull down the top roller. Make sure that the blow off valve is set to something like 2800 psi.

Talk to your local GreenMech dealer. Some of our machines have a dipstick but others may have a sight glass. Otherwise a gap of upto two inches below the tank top maybe okay. Lift out the return filter and see when you are changing that filter. What model is it?

Recently, one of our dealers had a glass panel bust and some scrote walked off with about £3k worth of Stihl kit. Luckily, the saws had been put in secure storage so it could have been worse. However, after the glazier had boarded it up, they returned and tried to torch the place by throwing petrol around the showroom. Much damage was done before the fire was extinguished but it could have been much worse. I will ask for serial numbers to load onto Arbsafe but beware that this tactic of returning and firing is being used.

It does indeed look like a Rivett imported Mighty RippaChippa, or Bandit. Try sending the serial number etc to Dean at Global Recycling. Please bear in mind that this may not comply with current Health and Safety regs on woodchippers controls as I doubt that the indeed chute long enough and the bar configuration right either.

The main differences being a change in the flywheel from two to four blades and easier blade access. We are generally going away from the duo or square bade as disc blades are so much easier to care for, will accept more abuse and are cheaper too! It isn't a quick change either as the QuadChip has been around for several years now and is a top performer!

Vanguard has an integral fuel tank whereas the Honda has to have one mounted elsewhere and than can be a bit unbalanced at times.

Define "conked out" please, I did see Grev Bray pass by our stand at SALTEX and may have a way of getting hold of him. I'm not sure that they are currently being made.....

Hi Ben, could the suppliers give you a list of people who have purchased them?

Mac, Jason and I once moved a six ton tracked mulcher to a position where it could be restarted with a 5hp Honda petrol with a pump mounted on it. I used the same thing to move a SafeTrak off site and onto a lorry with the same after the owner had screwed his engine.

Tracks have an internal brake which is released only when oil flows. If it is engine based and cannot be fixed on site, use a donkey engine and another pump plumbed into circuit and inch it off. I have seen major works carried out on site before - inconvenient maybe, but sometimes it is the only way.
