  1. I had thought of "condensing" and getting approved hand baggage to walk on with but you know what women are like! I'd chuck old clothes, walking boots etc. But one cannot chuck hair and face products, this years wardrobe etc......
  2. We are in the Rethimnon prefecture. But a good 15km's inland. Epic driving, epic countryside, fascinating place if can get about. Or a holiday in the sun if you cannot.....
  3. Ditto!
  4. Myself, Caz and four kids flew to Crete. I booked it all online but, it transpires, neglected to book the baggage allowance as I thought each passenger had an entitlement. How wrong was I..... Paid over £330 at EMA for four standard sized cases and one small....now got to do the same for the trip back! Furthermore, one case was cheaper on the way out as the passenger is a child and I looks twenty quid a head cheap on the way back!!!!! I shall not be using them again. But, please be warned, beware of these robbing bastards.
  5. From the OP's picture, a leak off is leaking! Ordinarily, it shouldn't be under pressure - or at least, not enough pressure to cause concern. That style of "push fit fitting" is susceptible to damage and that may be all that is needed.
  6. I don't know about inhalation, but when we fit it to chippers, it comes with the warning not to mix it with anything else and change it more frequently as it degrades so much faster. Which at six times to cost is frustrating.
  7. The Eco Combi with the shredder chute may have had a grease nipple on that big boss that the motor is mounted to. Their may not be one as we may have fitted sealed units on this model as well as the chippers in the same range. There is a nipple on the pivot for the top roller.
  8. Matt Leigh of Complete Trees in Stratford on Avon always reminds me of Spartacus! He is covered in chest scars too but they are from surgery.....
  9. Give Julian at GreenMech a ring on 07774 282488, he has access to some GreenMech prepared machines. He is on holiday (like me!) But may not answer, if he doesn't try the office on 01789 400044 and someone will try to help. They start at £10k and go up for a QuadChip.
  10. A call to your nearest supplier might give you the answer. Fraser Robb in Scotland, The Unimog dealer in High Bentham, Osborne's in Romsey or Arthur Ibbotson's in Cambridgeshire..... Off memory, the boxes were used by us some years ago as well as Schiesling and TS.
  11. You can always hire one from Orange Plant I doubt it, they are one of the GreenMech dealer network, and have been for a while now! They could do you a demo with a GreenMech 150 which is the original sub 750kg with a 6x9 inch opening! On another point, I have never charged for a demonstration of a woodchipper - if you are a serious buyer and the seller is serious, then a demonstration is part of the sales process and the gain is in the sale. There was a salesman around who did charge for the odd demo but that went in his back pocket and I am glad to say that that person is no longer in this game.
  12. I presume you mean the little EC150MT25D with the three pot air cooled Lister? If you do, they are held in with two countersunk bolts into the chassis for the horizontal one and the vertical one is two countersunks which form part of the bearing/pump drive set up. If you are lucky, they horizintal can come out with the flywheel in place, if the allen key holes round off, then remove flywheel and puddle weld a big nut to the countersunk and voila! Job is a good un! I have managed to get a couple out with the flywheel in place but sometimes it is better to incorporate the job with new rotor bearings etc. If that is the route, then phone Mac or Jason at GreenMech and the will lend you the aligning tool for getting the pump drive spot on or it will eat the spider drive!
  13. For a while I have had a hedgehog family in the garden - probably 6 years now, and they have just started dragging leaves etc across the garden to their hole I made under some decking. I know that the summer has been off an on but is this a little early? Is it a sign of a bad winter?
  14. We have had a good record with palms and other stringy stuff, certainly, machines in far away places that have spent and age doing it have not suffered. Even praised at a CA site in Australia for doing flax without an issue. Al Thomson, our man in Scotland ( before he left), did a right pile of bamboo at a zoo without any issue either.
  15. Good reply Justin, very informative. Thanks for your knowledge and experience.
  16. Try Bob Smith at wolverhampton Trees at Smestow Bridge.
  17. Who remembers them? The retro look is back in, as always, and I wonder if they will make an appearance for the hipsters to claim their own?
  18. A Beatles hit for me! But reading this does make me realise that a, music was better in the 60's and 70's and b, I feel old!
  19. Get the serial number then call the factory to check its provenance. Then check it as if it was any other used chipper. Wobbles in flywheel and road wheels, belts and pulleys and associated stuff, infeed rollers and shear bars. Ask what work they have done to it and how much warranty comes with it, check that it functions as it should and has no vices etc. Has it got a spares package with it and a trackable service history.....same as you ought to on any woodchipper. Good luck, hope it works out for you.
  20. Grev Bray sold a handful, then a few more went out with Bingham. Not big numbers by any stretch of the imagination. Good to see someone supporting those who have them though.
  21. Two phones in 17 years but had a couple of sparking 11,000 volt lines every quarter! But that was in the days where we did everything live and had a shut down every other year!
  22. That and deep pockets for the spares or electric blue pot!
  23. Were you chipping close to the machine? If the flap is right down then the chips can struggle to get out. Is there a change in shape of the chute as it changes direction? A bulge or some such may cause the chips to ricochet into each other. Check the pulleys as a worn pulley will reduce belt grip....some had a limiter fitted so that the engine didn't drop too far.
  24. I seem to remember that the corner was milled off, hard face weld into the void and then the two faces ground back to give a 90degree corner - a lot of processes when an annealed through and through bar cuts down on the handling. I know of a tungsten tipped chipper blade, but that it is murderously expensive and will suffer damage and eventual wear. Stick to what was original, factor in these costs and get on with life.
