  1. I was amazed how quickly the ground was eroded! Glad that history has been saved. Awesome looking place.
  2. We always said that if you were big, they were left hand drive! Only because your right hand side was crushed agin the door/window!
  3. Balmers GM, the GreenMech dealer for West Yorkshire is having an open day at their newly opened premises on Monkton Street, Wakefield on the 23rd February. Peter Bagguley will be there from GreenMech with some machines and Balmers will be showing other products like Stihl and John Deere too. I understand that food and hot drinks will be available but it would be wise to contact Adrian Holroyd on 07471 038153 so that they can get the numbers right. I doubt that we can demonstrate but if you want to see a specific machine please advise and I'll do what I can.
  4. Bend the actuator slightly and tighten the clamp.
  5. Just twigged! Paul Doyle! Got stumped by the Antrobus thing.....
  6. Phone GreenMech on 01789 400044 and at the prompt, press 2, Mac or Jason will give you their best attention. I wonder if the fuel is getting through to the carb properly.
  7. Give Orange a call, they have a fleet available but tomorrow is Mighty close!
  8. Paul, are you one of the sales guys for Vermeer?
  9. I was talking to Alan Oldfield this week and that Forestry spec 360 had a n episode of poor diesel and it cost £5k to repair! New injectors, engine flush and new oil and filter. Tank flush and new filters, it only got going enough on site at the 3rd attempt to get it recovered!
  10. I always thought that the AUS supplied units were a good investment. Last years of heavy use and abuse and wished I had kept some when I stopped!
  11. I'm sitting down to do the Arbsafe thing later. Alan said that he understood that the compound was near to Leeds and it was a small Ford type van. I'm also going to look in the records to see if it had a tower and will advise.
  12. Don't touch it! If it is under warranty and you mess with it and do any more harm then it may void your warranty! Call the supplier and arrange for them to do any testing/messing.
  13. Alan at Beaver Plant confirmed today that shortly before Christmas, a customer had a GreenMech 1928STC along with the twin axle trailer from the customers secure compound. Apparently, the thieves tailgated a truck through the gates, hooked up to the trailer and shot off. It may have been a small Transit Connect but the cameras were inconclusive. It may have been offered for sale in Lancashire recently....Please contact Alan if you are offered an orange coloured 1928STC with the serial number 150375.
  14. I never rated that clear "criss-cross" pipe for much more than temporary use. If you got a clear inline then proper fuel hose is best and I would use crimps or clamps too. That would virtually eliminate diesel leaks out or air getting in.
  15. Some winches have a thermo cut out. If they get hot, they will stop working until they have teach an acceptably temperature. If the dealer fitted it that way around then perhaps they ought to be involved with alterations to preserve your warranty.
  16. I first came across these a couple of years ago and thought that it would be a good idea for when brash has to be brashed down on a site and left in windrows as habitat cover! the logs that came out weren't too aesthetically pleasing and the brash was a bit messy to store until they leaves had gone etc. but it is an interesting concept. The rollers wood have to be massively strong as is the gearbox that drives them.
  17. Did their GreenMech get a viewing?
  18. Look for cracks in the cast rotor and metal fatigue in the chassis, look at the condition of the rad core and run the engine with the cap off looking for bubbles. Get the serial number and check with the supplier for known history. I would do this with any device, let alone a chipper!
  19. A lad who worked for me some years ago had some complex issues to do with the toilet. Preferred to go on a newspaper then chuck it in the bin! he also got into bother once for leaving turds in the holes at the local golf club or so I got told! Once confessed to doing things because of the voices in his head. The poor soul was tormented by some inner demons - harmless to me and not a bad worker on the whole but he had some complex issues for which society could not handle.
  20. Be careful with TFR, when I ran a tree company years back, I occasionally went in on a Saturday to wash and clean stuff ready for the lads to go off in on the Monday. One saturday I lined the chippers up outside, sprayed with TFR then got distracted by a phone call. Went back out and it had eaten through the lacquer and etch the powder coat. The lovely Ford Radiant red GreenMech was burnt orange! I could have wept....
  21. Brightwells are having a sale of ex council, ex EA, ex Police vehicles on this friday. I did see some 4x4 Sprinter vans in their yard when I drove past the other day. Brightwells Vehicles | Car & Commercial | Catalogue
  22. Anything available from Lindana TP? I always thought that Osbourne's, the original importer would be a good call for info.
  23. Clear track have a yard in Carnforth, may be worth giving them a holler.
  24. Network Rail have de-veg yards in Liverpool, tbh, if you want that kind of work, you may have to travel.
  25. Buy the CS100 and put an old fashioned tray/box on your rear linkage. Carry the CS and all your tools in that and you got extra flexibility around the farm! Best solution going!
