  1. An engineering company, ground care machinery, or Ag engineers should have a surface grinder to do flat blades, What machine do you have?
  2. Cannot help with you on the TW side but I noticed that there is a GreenMech Combi for sale in Whitby on Fleabay. They do a good job as a chipper with a separate shredder chute.
  3. Try Benbow Bros, North of Shrewsbury.
  4. On my travels around the country, I'm seeing an awful lot of trees that look distressed with leaves turning brown and withering. Sycamores, Salix family and Birch in the main. Has their season finished mega early or is there a pestilence that is the root cause?
  5. FiberFix? What were you searching for when you found that????
  6. I pass a place on the Black Isle on the north side and there is a chap with half a dozen Fordson type tractors with woofer engines in the front, i got a picture somewhere that I'll dig out. The first time I passed by, I said to a colleauge 'the bonnet on my old Fordson wasn't as long as that!'. we stopped and peered over the hedge and it was one and a half bonnets grafted together over the top of a truck engine with a huge turbo!
  7. Give the lads at the Doncaster office a call, they are listed on their website
  8. Perhaps the price is reasonable if similar to others quoted? I tend to think that, at times, things cost what they cost and smile, pay up and get on.
  9. We have to Pete, all trailed devises have to be built to a set of standards with no deviation allowed from our stand point. For example, if came along and specified something slightly different, like a different set of wheels, they cannot be done by the factory. We can supply them loose however and it is up to you to fit them. Even prototype units without homologation papers have to be carried and not towed!
  10. There is a 'manufacturers tolerance ' which does give some leeway. We got told that, ordinarily, the trailer is not separated from the truck and the gross is the bit that matters. They cannot do you if your item of plant is platedcat one weight by the manufacturer yet weighs something else! This could occur due to muck, different but standard tyres, battery, fluids etc. Some years ago, there were makes of chipper that were only sub 750 if the discharge chute was separated and no fluids fitted!

    Jokes???

Just before I die, I'm going to eat a bucket load of popcorn kernels. My cremation is going to be epic!
  12. Why? They aren't much cop tbh.
  13. The plasma or Dyneema option is popular on ours, it is dear, but some much easier and forgiving than a steel wire....
  14. I think that the answer has to be......mucho plenty!
  15. Lockerbie APF was 2002, various exhibitors took ul in the Lockerbie Hall, drank all the beet, got insulted by Donna and got an envelope opener! Epic nights!
  16. Businesses do change and life does go on. While it is the end of an era and folk like the Osbournes are loosing out, maybe Wilson's will do a good job. I extend my very best wishes to the Osbournes, I remember getting brochures off of them some 25 years ago, drinking beer at the Lockerbie Hall Hotel at that APF and chatting with Mark at Cheffins sales.....good people.....but life does go on.
  17. Anyone got any recommendations on buying an engine diagnostic box? plug it in and see what is getting the warning lamps to go off etc. Are they a common plug or do manufacturers use their own? Is there a conversion plug? etc..... My lad was looking at one off of evil bay for 25 quid and asked my advise. He has a 2ltr Legacy fwiw!
  18. Didn't Justin sell that right big affair to Glen (?) over Stockport way?
  19. I had a demo a while back in mid Wales and the boiler manufacturer was there too. Nice chap who could not see the point that the huge majority of affordable chippers did not make a suitable chip for his auger fed boiler. He had a gauge and was picking bits off the heap and pushing them through the holes but I took it off him and proved that it might fit lengthways but not widthways! Eventually, I had to say, "Listen chap, the average farmer does not want to spend a huge wad on a machine that has a sole purpose unless it is a combine. Why aren't you designing a feed system that accepts the woodchip that comes from the majority of chippers that are available and suitable for his general needs. Especially as grant money will be thin on the ground.!" I'm sure that your man would be better off talking to the NFU advisers rather than sales people! Will, good picture of the Cathedral at dusk btw.
  20. That conjures up a vision! How do you manage this in a LandRover?
  21. Bloody Hell! A MetroMower!?! Someone at the GreenMech factory is after on of them, he used to make them back in the day! Would you consider selling it?
  22. Such positive replies, very good to hear!
  23. Take your spam and shove orf!
  24. The roller carriageway? Victims of our own success! GreenMech were the first people to make the letterbox opening a successful mass market machine and potentially safer too with vertical rollers. The downside is that part of the daily check regime is to flick that detritus out. No big deal.
  25. For those of you who saw this at the recent AA show at Westonbirt, it is for sale as a new machine. The base colour is a dark blue, possibly a Daimler Benz colour with the Unbion Jack in a vinyl. It will be sold as a standard machine but for the colour/vinyl and would come via your local dealer.
