  1. We got a CS100 into a standard height Transit. I think we too the short chute off mind. Why is height critical? What are you trying? I could have one measured if you want!
  2. Tigers beat Saints this evening! Good Derby match.....
  3. The Chipmaster range was and is a good performing unit and solidly built. The 180 with a 45hp unit was a tidy unit and the 220 with its 55hp went very well. They did weigh around 1300kgs and towed very well. They are quite easy to look after and spares are still freely available. I put on one a tractor for a local authority recently and with around 75hp at the shaft was very impressive. I had the forerunner of the 220TMP on the back of my Unimog before I worked for GreenMech and it was a joy to use. We still have the 220 available in trailed and TMP versions and there are some going to the Antipodes in the near future.
  4. Someone who says "I done that...." and it isn't done properly and you end up doing it yourself! People who put straps, ropes away in a bundle rather than properly. People who after being given an instruction or best advice, do it their way and look amazed when it goes wrong!
  5. I was going to say put it in an old grey fergie as TVO substitute or paraffin heater in a glass house but put diesel in it! I put a similar mix in my fergie, it smokes, is down on power but runs the saw bench okay!
  6. There was the start of a plan with Global Sales to lob a V8 with open headers into a GreenMech just for fits and giggles! Cannot beat the sound of V8 'on cam'.
  7. We had a look at hydrogen generators on machines but the engine people weren't impressed. So we removed them.
  8. Sorry, I'm way behind the curve with this but, a good customer informs me that, as of April next year, all vehicles involved in working on, or parked/stopped on the highway while the occupants work close to the highway must have full beacons and appropriate chevron HiViz on the rear of their truck and a HiViz stripe down the side waistline! Anyone got concrete evidence or recommendations?
  9. Plenty of good tips on using a Wee Chipper if you care to read the thread from end to end......but you will a bit of time! We took pictures of ours in a standard height Transit van years ago!
  10. It is a Honda powered standard 130 with a bracket and tank filched off if a forklift! Goes well apparently!
  11. Which dealer? (PM if you want), list on a QuadChip is £18,365 and a 130 is £11,480 less what ever discount and plus vat!
  12. We are doing gas powered hybrid chippers for an export order!
  13. A lot of small diesel engines will not meet the future emission regs, GreenMech, Timberwolf, Jensen etc will be in the same situation in that our favoured engines for the sub 750kg range will not be available. Buyers look like they will have to accept lower HP diesel or go to petrol. We have a 37hp petrol unit for testing and it kind of makes sense as pump petrol is cheaper than white diesel!

It is a shame that such measures have to be taken, the punishment doesn't suit the crime.
  15. Alan Oldfield at Beaver Plant in York has a fleet of tracked machines, mainly Jensen and GreenMech but also has a large Bandit . Try him.
  16. Just an update. It is still in the garage.......they serviced it as per the book at 120k miles, they did close to 900 in road tests in between faults, took it on the standard road test that they do following routine servicing and the light came back on! Even Ford are stuck! New engine, new DPF, new sensors, wiring checked, injectors checked, new service and ECU checked and no one can explain what is wrong......Bristol Street have it a total of 10 weeks we think! Bizarre and infuriating.
  17. Hyundai are badging a load of gear at the moment, from compressors to chippers and generators. I doubt whether any of it has been near Hyundai factory but came from the far east.....
  18. Congratulations on the award, well deserved and hard won! A fantastic team effort.
  19. Floating blade? What exactly do you mean? Does the hydraulics react to pressure lowering or raising the arm as you pull the bucket across the ground?
  20. All right you clever shite, I missed that!
  21. As said, check that the levers are okay, check that the spool is getting travel too. Worth checking oil level of n hubs as low oil or bad oil ain't good!
  22. I would have ditched the friction set up as it can be a dark art setting them up and gone for a standard AX shaft with bolt!
  23. Interesting belt drive arrangement on the grinder!
  24. Happened to me too on a demo just the other week! I laughed big style as a huge load of conifer flew up in a mushroom cloud! Tightened the clamp up fairly fierce after that.
  25. Sounds worrying to stall the pump to get belts smoking!?! The hydraulic circuit should have a blow off/safety valve that would not allow the pump to do this! Is the return filter clean and oil in good nick?
