  1. We do one which you could modify and do flat blades as well as our disc blades!
  2. To be honest, I think that their pencils were always sharp, probably too sharp, if the truth is known. After all, if we suppliers, have to eat meat at weekends too!
  3. I enjoyed it! Good to see and talk to various folk both for business with chippers and fun with owners, ex-owners and just friends as well as friendly competitors and other suppliers too.
  4. Any woodchippers gas to have sharp blades to function properly. Check the condition of the blades frequently by looking at them by taking the covers off and remember that a wood chipper is that! It isn't a stone crusher or a steel shear! The supplier should have given all this information to you when they sold the machine to you.
  5. Why not book it in and have them do it? £40 per side isn't a great deal and you could be out earning while you spend. I'd budget for a brake reline while hub us off and think on a couple of cables just in case they are knackered too. I always found that getting a job done like that more fun done by someone else while I earnt the money to pay for it!
  6. So terribly sad. Condolences and best wishes to those affected.
  7. Apart from it was a GMC van!
  8. 'One wife - leave it!'
  9. Not tree related but machinery folk may be able to shed some light! I got a Toro 82" Contour mower to top the fields at her place (horse gone now). It was a runner but with knackered engine so I chucked in a Peugeot 105 diesel and can get it to drive back and forth, steer and lift/lower the deck. But I am stumped on how to get the pto drive to the auxilary pump to work. I don't seem to get power to the switch or when I put 12v direct into the loom, nowt happens! ANyone know what the pto clutch consists of in the Saur HST unit?
  10. I got a picture somewhere of a Fordson that I pass on the way to Cromarty, I passed and thought that the bonnet was longer than mine was and it was covering a long six with a massive turbo!
  11. I thought that the V6 was going to be introduced! Isn't one available in the Amorak? GreenMech have two being changed this year so what do you guys recommend? Which has a good in built carphone, radio,cd player, sat nav etc? Which tows loads well? Which has decent service costs/intervals?
  12. The old Isuzu dealer in Leicester was always good and reasonably priced and Shepshed Ford did me a favour by fitting pattern disc brakes as Ford bits were unreasonably expensive! So they can be out there! Bristol Street in Redditch are very much the other end of the scale mind!
  13. What is it with motor dealers? They are either woeful or superb! GreenMech have had such a poor Ranger dealer (we had five in one year), that when we change, Ford will not get a look in!
  14. [quote=Huxley McLoch;1576371. Id be astonished if green mech make all the components in uk or even assemble them here. Actually, they are made under one roof in Alcester, Warwickshire. I would think that the factory employs in the order of a hundred people to cut steel, fold it, weld it, shot blast and powder coat it, assemble it, test it and deliver it to a dealers showroom. The building has a number of other tenants but we need more floor space so a new building is being erected for them so we can have their units. You are welcome to come and have a factory tour! The logistics of the operation would give you an understanding of why things cost what they do.
  15. Downhill sky line! Big cajones! Brakes would be a tad warm after that! Good find.
  16. Anything that stops the opportunistic thief is a bonus, trying to stop the determined and equipped is another matter. I've, regrettably, seen many occasions when no amount of locks, chains, trackers or immobiliser has stopped it going missing. And that includes from compounds with cameras and 24hour security! Fit whatever your insurance stipulated in their paperwork and hope for the best! Good luck all.....
  17. Nice one Steve, the original and the best!
  18. I'd be a little circumspect about the stated capabilities. Sleepers? No....Steel? No.....Stone/Concrete? No..... I think a lot of Graham Satchwell, the importer. But shredding stuff and blowing out a chute is hard, TW did a shredder but decided that the volume isn't there, Salean and Bugnot are French machines but don't do well here, we sell enough but ours is two machines in one! Burn it and then in future, keep it clean and put it through a chipper!
  19. The joys of Mog ownership! I asked a supplier in Tewkesbury to supply mine with the upright exhaust, his version fell off quickly and a genuine one from a Mercedes commercial place was £900+vat just for the stench pipe and guard. The silencer had to be cut/shut as it was too complicated and expensive to order the correct unit. As Mike says, they are only hydraulic pistons and your good local Ag engineer should sort this.
  20. GreenMech have continued their dealer realignment programme by replacing T H White from May 1st with new dealers New Forest Farm Machinery and GA Groundcare, whilst existing dealers Burden Brothers Agri Ltd will be extending their coverage area. All existing warranties relating to GreenMech chippers, sold by T H White, will be supported by these new dealers. Based in Ringwood, New Forest Farm Machinery will be providing sales and support throughout the Hampshire and Dorset regions. With over 25 years of engineering experience, New Forest Farm Machinery will be adding the GreenMech brand to their range of professional groundcare equipment. Taking over the areas of Wiltshire, Berkshire and Gloucestershire will be GA Groundcare. This Wiltshire based business specialises in professional and commercial Groundcare, as well as Arboricultural Equipment, and will be changing woodchipper suppliers to represent GreenMech. Finally, Burden Brothers Agri Ltd will now be servicing new and existing customers in Surrey, adding to their established areas of Kent and Sussex. Commenting on the new arrangements, Sales Director for GreenMech Martin Lucas said, “We are very pleased to have joined forces with a number of new dealers in the South West. All of these partners have proven track records for providing quality sales and customer service and we look forward to the opportunities this will offer new and existing customers in these areas.” ENDS
  21. Contact the importers - PSD, part of the Gibsons Garden Machinery in Colne, Lancashire. Bearings should have a part number on them on one of the outer faces of the race. If they come off okay, a good bearing supplier should be able to match them up for you anyhow.
  22. I remember talking to an Ag dealer about a newish tractor with a gearbox issue which was going to be close to £20k to fix. His supplier wasn't going to pay for a lorry to get it from the farm, and he felt that it was going to be rejected as it had been driven hard. Either he or the Ag Contractor was going to suck it up.
  23. Such a very hard question to answer and a minefield all round! I haven't heard of any warranty covering consequential loss of any kind and as far as i can recall, as long as the supplier is trying to sort your problems, there is no time limit to the responding. I was asked at a show about this and if the supplier has a full workshop, packed diary and awaiting the part and agreement to come from his supplier, he is stuck in a hole! Warranty is usually paid at a much lower hourly rate than he gets from service work and he may be pegged on mileage too. Quite often, parts are charged for and he has to retrospectively claim that cost back, and if it is turned down then the customer has be charged!
  24. I got two minds on this, one is to spend and get a quality make from local supplier of ground care machines who will be able to support you, or go and buy cheap Chinese rubbish from internet/supermarket and chuck it when it don't work!
  25. Stop the unintelligent, non working, over weight and those with a criminal record from voting! Sorry, i followed a large woman in the local Asda, whose family are 3rd generation benefit claimants whose chap has been done for theft and fraud, saying that she was going to vote for Corbyn as he was going to take the money off of the "thieving" rich and give it to the likes of her who deserve more help!
