  1. Loxam, a rental company in France (and other countries too), recently ordered 30 machines in their colours.
  2. Someone recently had a grey QuadTrak, if you got close, it was almost a metallic finish.
  3. I have to say that I'm not convinced that this Caravaggio is fit for work. Is it a chipper or a shredder? I seem to remember something from the past that says that the bottom of a chipper indeed has to be flats or even uphill to the rollers. And never downwards. Or is this gravity fed only?
  4. Tough break Dan, hope you get a result.

    Ploggs .

Good, I hope he does well with it and wish him best regards for the future. His postings didn't doe anything for me.
  6. Bartram Mowers, the GreenMech dealers for Norfolk and Suffolk are holding two open days in early March. March 8th, Trinity Park, Ipswich. 10:00 - 14:00 with refreshments provided. Martin Lucas will be on hand with a range of GreenMech machines for you to see. March 10th, at their Blue Bell Road, Norwich, showroom. 10:00 - 14:00 with refreshments provided. Martin Lucas will be there with the same units he had at Ipswich.
  7. When we used the EHB control box, we kept those details out of the manual as we didn't really want people messing with them. If anyone had an issue, they contacted the dealer or GreenMech direct. Give Overland a call and see how you get on.
  8. Get yourself a selection of forked sticks to use as 'pokey sticks' and usually a couple of chocks stop it from moving if that is an issue.
  9. Belts are off the shelf, can you make out any markings on the belts as that is the size. The manual can be had if you phone GreenMech on 01789 400044, press option 3 and ask whoever answers the phone for an email. You could ask for the service department who will give you belt size but you need to be sure of the model. I thought that we fitted the Lister engine with the tank on top in the CM152MT35 and the CM202MT45 had a slab tank on the side of the body. All 202's had a 4 pot Lister, whereas the 152 had a 3 pot unit.
  10. Try a fabrication company or Ag engineers. As previously said, a remote roller control may make it more usable and a short infeed will help to guide in brash but needs a bit of strength to take the 'bash'. Are the rollers up to that kind of work too? Having brash forced at then whereas hand feed is a bit more delicate compared?
  11. Get the GreenMech! But then, I would say that as I am biased
  12. You are quite correct. Unfortunately, I took my mistake on the chin and understood that last time, it was I who was to blame and listened to Coz who wanted to take her kids to Krakow, Auswitz, the Salt Mines etc. We paid for two suitcases in advance and also took a couple of carry-ones. At EMA, the bags weighed less than 15kgs each and they put the carry-on in the hold foc....... Caz brought a pair of shoes their, and I got rid of a rugby shirt and left my shampoo, deodorant and shower gel - so no big gain or loss. At the airport, the girl tells me that both bags have increased weight, making us 4.5kgs more than we came!!! She wouldn't re-weigh these but rather brusquely demands that we go to another desk. This after she says that we can put the extra in the small carry-on and she will put that in the hold for free! So it isn't an argument over weight or bag size then....... We also watched one chap get through check in with two carry-on bags, both of which were too big to go in the box. Only to be the last on the plane as he had to pay to put one in the hold while the other went on free! If there isn't an alternative carrier, I will have to think hard as I feel that they are not a company that I wish to fly with again. Especially if they have such bizarre rules.....
  13. Me, Caz, Ez and Joe fly from EMA to Krakow. Lovely, time - great place. Blah, blah blah. Go to fly home and we get either get charged for the extra 4.5 kgs that has mysteriously appeared on our baggage at a cost of £150 or so - or - take it out and put it in our hand luggage which will go for free!!!! With no room in the hand baggage, we have to pay! I got robbed in the past and tried to swallow it and put down to life's tapestry but this is the final straw. I will never fly or promote or speak kindly of Ryanair or anyone/thing that is used/owned/associated with the ever again...... Furthermore, an ex-professional pilot or many years standing warned me off of them but I will now take their advice and complain and highlight these rubbing dogs at every turn. Mark my word, they are blatant profiteering thief's.....
  14. This bronze green Combi went through the factory last month - it got delivered recently to its new owner who specified the colour for historic or heritage reasons. It is the colour that LandRovers were originally and it is working away at Lode Lane in Solihull at the LandRover factory! They also own one for their test site at Gaydon too.
  15. MST are the GreenMech dealers for Devon and Southern Somerset are throwing open their doors! The MST Open Day at their new Lee Mill facility will be held on Tuesday 23rd February from 1pm until 9pm. The new premises boasts an impressive large fully equipped workshop and an excellent showroom displaying the latest equipment from Greenmech, Stihl, Honda and much more. Refreshments will b provided so come along and see us there!
  16. We burnt for years before we had chippers. Ball of newspaper, match and some dry stuff. Light it and add more dry stuff. If it is raining, make a shelter with a newspaper. Keep adding until you can add brash, look at an Ash tree for some dead wood to bolster the "bottom". When adding brash, keep the butt ends into the wind to allow the heat to blow through. Keep adding your brash in a tidy manner with the butt ends at the same point and when the bottom is doing good, pull out the butts and through on top, similarly, fold over the tops on to the burn. Finally, rake all the sticks, twigs, butts ends on top of the coals and nowt should left. Do they teach this stuff at Arb school?
  17. "Can you push a brush up me back passage for me before you go,!"
  18. Go into Global and see a set of decsals on their machines, I would think they are pretty generic. Off memory, we do not change sticker sets for tractor mounted to road tows etc. The main difference is whether it is above or below that 600mm.
  19. Never undue the fuel pipes to the injectors at the high pressure pump. There should be a bleed screw on the pump and bleeding there should suffice. You may upset the pump by meddling on top of the fittings on top of it - this could result in a rough running engine with cylinders getting too much or too little fuel per cylinder.
  20. Iain Ogilvy at Inverness Tree Services has a tracked Heizo.
  21. Good to see old kit being used. Have you had it updated and modernised to suite the current H&SE regs. These all changed some fifteen years ago and it would be worth checking to see if yours is safe to use.
  22. Orange Plant, done out of Kirklingtilloch. Phone their central office at Newcastle.
  23. It has been done a few times. You could it using your chippers hydraulic flow, a pair of motors on swing away brackets and a couple of valves. Or find an easier yard!
  24. As Dan says. Get the roller out, trim back the female spline in a lathe, then weld a new one in place. Refit and put in a new bearing if there is any wear.

    Stihl 090

I got one in the garage, the original 60" bar with oil tank and handle got burnt in a fire but the body was stored elsewhere. No chainbrake bit an av cage of sorts! Bloody loud - you can virtually feel each ignition as a percussion clap! Git to start without a kickback in cold weather.
