  1. Blimey, that rings bells! Looked around their runway site in the 80's, some fascinating kit parked up there! Vintage and veteran plethora abounds!
  2. I saw some redundant kit at Bardney Sawmills east of Lincoln. Could be worth a call.
  3. Good post John. Very best wishes to his family and friends for the future!

    Mini Artic

Might look like a mini artic but still a Leyland Daf underneath! ooof!
  5. Sweet day then!
  6. Steady on Ian!?! I'm not the only tool at GreenMech!:sneaky2:
  7. One of the best tools I invested in for the workshop was a compressor! With care, everything can get a clean easily, radiators in chippers, chainsaws, floor of the van, workshop floor and even yourself before taking chip and dust into the house!

    Mini Artic

I haven't seen this type of rig about before - the only mini artics that I have seen were for delivering cherry pickers etc. That fact that it isn't a common sight may mean that it doesn't work well?
  9. Spotted this for sale in the Newbury Area in an upcoming farm sale. https://www.i-bidder.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues/cheffinsov/catalogue-id-cheffi1-10058/lot-89348c21-a37e-497b-8b43-a76e0124d514 Type of thing that would be good on a power arm of a hedgeflail or maybe a digger?
  10. It is called Glebe Green and the RAL code is 6018.
  11. Tigers and Wasps was a cracker too! Shame we lost by that one point. Good last match for Burns mind!
  12. I got a small amount of block paving out front. I'm at the bottom of a hill and the ineffectual drains mean that not only does it get flooded with every rain shower but that water brings all the grass seed and that gets dumped and then grows! Anyone got some good recommendations for killing the grass and killing the weeds. The stuff which is available at the likes of B&Q just doesn't seem to work!
  13. It looks like it was a Baromix but he wasn't involved with mixers in those days! That bit of ground was dug out and back filled to make decent hard standing and they think that bulk delivery cement took over from mixing your own on that scale!
  14. Bloody thing broke down again and left me on the roadside until the AA sorted it! Fuel return Jose had come off (poorly reattached and with two broken clips) spraying fuel all over the place. Following drivers suffered with spray/must and smoke. AA man did say to sack the dealer who fitted the engine......
  15. New build for existing tenants, it is on the south side of the site where the outside caravan yards was and where you could turn left to drive up the back of the main building.
  16. As I typed that I thought something was wrong!
  17. Lazy oil pressure switch? Water temp sender gone bad? Bonnet switch moving? Low battery voltage causing fuel solenoid to switch off? Faulty fuel solenoid switching off? Start with the cheap stuff if Redwood won't answer phone tomorrow but do ring them! Any warranty left from Listers?
  18. These were the units we used to get to do overheads and fit them to the AUS rods, cheaper now than 20 years ago! https://www.landmarktrading.com/tools/tree-and-hedge-tools/pole-saws/replacement-lopper-head-for-park-poles.html
  19. What make are the bypass lopers used on the AUS fibreglass rods, they were good! Pricey but good - they were made in Derby somewhere I seem to remember and came with a screw thread fitting to alloy rods (Never used in the electrial industry of course) or drilled for the fibre rods.
  20. Over 240 tonnes of concrete being pumped in to make up one floor level. Laser levelled and dry by knocking off time. No footprints left on this build - I was going to sneak in and leave my mark for prosterity!
  21. Nearly weatherproof but still a lot to do.
  22. The walls starting to be clad and a certain amount of floor prep done.
  23. Roof panel work going on.
  24. While digging out the foundation pits in made up ground from when the site was the Turner Flail Mower factory from the 60's until the 80's, some builder threw in some of his old scrap!
  25. The foundations and formwork dug and fitted and the uprights going in.
