  1. Tackle more diy jobs that "I will do that one next weekend!" Decorate New garage door Get hot rod running properly Mend the fence, properly Sort brakes on tractor Put engine in big ride on Build another couple of bays onto barn Burn off heap in field Decorate her place Watch more rugby Take her shopping for her stuff more often Get daughter through car test Will that do for now?
  2. You mentioned a cost o Felixstowe's port, is that in a container or lorry?
  3. 1979 Ford Transit without tipper was in use when I first started, but when we formed the Ltd Co in 1984, my mate a a Renault Tragic van and trailer and brought an ex army Series IIa LWB. These were followed by two LDV tippers when they got retired!
  4. Hazel recently retired from GreenMech after 18 years as Marketing Manager, Sales Administration, Reception and a few other roles! She and her husband, Pete, have gone to live near Mevagissy in Cornwall and we would like to thank her and wish them well for the future. Many GreenMech customers would recognise Hazel as the first person they see on arriving at the GreenMech office or the first person they hear if they rang up! She had a particularly difficult role as she tended to get treated as a PA by many members of staff, and was always very helpful and polite to all the dealership staff who would ring in and ask for help with something. Jade Redding will be starting in the new year, taking on some of Hazel's duties with other, more specific roles being given to other people. GreenMech thanks Hazel and Pete for their commitment to the cause over the years and and hopes that this next phase in their lives brings them further happiness and fulfilment.
  5. All good posts but if you know what make and model you are after, go to that makes nearest dealer and introduce yourself. They should be able to help.
  6. ArbTrak with folding chute, we did some QuadChips with twin bars for someone recently too.
  7. Here is the hopping pink 150! It is off to Switzerland.
  8. Why do you need an extra trailer for a CS100, but not for any other similar sized machine? The benefit in a CS is the bigger opening and high discharge which makes it more usable and the resale value is high, rather than having to cut stuff into a stick and have it spat on the floor.
  9. What about a reasonable forklift? With a tipping skip bucket, good to get in and out of, manoeuvrability, lift and possibly gas powered too. Must be an option on concrete....
  10. Always thought that the Hoss was a decent piece of kit and surprised that I didn't see more of it. Good luck with the sale.
  11. Alan Oldfield at Beaver Plant told me yesterday that a customer has had a 1928 SafeTrak stolen from his yard with the trailer. This rental machine is in Orange with a lighting tower and is less than a year old. Although the CCTV shows a small van entering the premises and leaving with the chipper, unfortunately, no number is visible.
  12. Many years ago, I had a County with live axle up front and twin wheels - it was very rough on road and not much cop off! Poor load capacity too. I also had an early Iveco, very limited again in capacity and made just as much mesd on turf! Stick with a Land rover! My L reg 130 single cab with alloy pick up is still running around North West Leicestershire!
  13. Hopping pink one coming through assembly right now. Full pictures to follow.
  14. Who from?
  15. Get a GreenMech CS100, top tool! I am biased mind! ;-)
  16. Run fast!
  17. Beaver Plant, Barnes field, Davies of Pencader and Arbrep are the dealers.
  18. Copied from a Facebook thing.
  19. Quality advice!
  20. Anyone else spot some good adds on ebay? My missus was after a running machine and one add said 'selling as making way for proper clothes horse as this one takes up too much space'.
  21. Dead easy Mick, as said though! Soak them and then turn them. If the tip is missing and the wound fresh then take head off. But if the tip is burnt away, then don't worry.
  22. They weren't bad little chippers tbh. Some jobs where a bit fiddly when they got old but on the whole, fine. Make sure of its provenance and ensure that it has the correct indeed chute/bar as that could another grand!
  23. Try replacing the two springs that pull down the top roller. Make sure that the blow off valve is set to something like 2800 psi.
  24. Talk to your local GreenMech dealer. Some of our machines have a dipstick but others may have a sight glass. Otherwise a gap of upto two inches below the tank top maybe okay. Lift out the return filter and see when you are changing that filter. What model is it?
  25. Recently, one of our dealers had a glass panel bust and some scrote walked off with about £3k worth of Stihl kit. Luckily, the saws had been put in secure storage so it could have been worse. However, after the glazier had boarded it up, they returned and tried to torch the place by throwing petrol around the showroom. Much damage was done before the fire was extinguished but it could have been much worse. I will ask for serial numbers to load onto Arbsafe but beware that this tactic of returning and firing is being used.
