  1. The GreenMech 152/202/252 were hard face weld and squared off with a surface grinder and they are still available. Newer machines have a shear bar which is hard through and through - but too hard and they can shatter and too soft means that they wear quicker. All blades and shear bars are, to one degree or another, a sacrifial item.
  2. We have fitted a tow ball in the past to tow a small trailer for some people in the past and we also fitted a "roof rack" over the bonnet on one! Otherwise people just fill the indeed with their kelter!
  3. Nice.....I always that Dr Alice Roberts wasn't scraping the bottom of the barrel miself! To the subject in hand, (ahem), roof tiles, possibly Roman, possibly Cotswold in origin? Where are you too?
  4. How many horses is it rated at? Are you sure about the belts? Are the Vee pulleys shiny at the bottom of the Vee? I would have suggested at fuel, belts or maybe the belief that it should be better but you got what you got!
  5. Do the belts feel taut when the engine is sat on them? Does the rotor feel that it turns freely enough? What engine is it? Is it a turbo Lombardini with ascrewed turbo? Is the engine breathing okay? Are you 100% sure that the fuel system is good? What kind of fuel pump is it?
  6. I thought that Kilworths handled the MultiOne!?! I never heard a bad word about the people at Kilworths from any side. Lewis's used to do it - Hubert Nightingale said it was good kit but dear.
  7. Congratulations for passing your apprenticeship! Many happy returns!
  8. Handy technical adjustment! Nice one.....
  9. Yawn....
  10. I see so many chippers that do not comply with the H&SE regs on ebay, and in danger of fetching strong money, it it beggars belief!
  11. There are HGV recovery firms with a sort of low loader with sliding axles to recover stuff if spec lift is too risky.
  12. GreenMech run a wagon and drag, both of which have either beaver or ramps. But I'm pretty sure you would be better off taking to a Spec-lift equipped outfit like Crouch's or another HGV recovery outfit.
  13. The wire carries the 12v signal to the coil. The coil is finger tight fit onto the spool. Perhaps the nut was too loose and not it wasn't in the right place. Do not over tighten as that could crush the coil and bugger it right up!
  14. Closer enough to RTM. Richard Taylor in Bucks was/is a TS dealer if you need help.
  15. Looks like a 190 to me. PSD in Colne, Lancs are the importers. Couldn't tell you who dealers are. Where aboots are the?
  16. I mix beans (usually Heinz) with chopped tomatoes and add a dash of Lea and Perrins., on marmited toast. Although I am just as content with minted mushy peas on toast.

He was the man!!! I was a teenager when he was at his best and only found out some years later how much trouble he got into for the religious jokes and sketches he did! Top man!!!....
  18. Hi Folks, I understand that the recommended torque setting for the blade bolts has been revised to 28nm. This is as stated in the current Ops Manual which is available as a download from the GreenMech website under "Products", then CS100.
  19. What failed first? A blade which then did the damage or a duff bearing let go and the rest is coincidental?
  20. We have fitted a roller speed adjustable valve to some and we did away with a central bank of nipples as it isn't necessary when it us as easy as it is to remove the top cover. If you think that it could blow further then adjust the no stress settings so the lower limit is raised.
  21. The picture of the interesting stairs shows where the horse that towed the canal boat and the canal people went up and around the locks and met the boat at the other side.
  22. I'll buy you breakfast next time I'm in Largs......
  23. To be honest, I doubt we would void warranty on such a minor conversion. Why not get a trolley type wheel in place of the original foot just to load, or rob a skateboard set and fashion a conversion with that. Better still, get a small winch with a remote to assist you.....
  24. Adam, it was plucked from the ether by one of the GreenMech fabricator/welders, Steve Hamer. Or at least, that was the first time I saw it. In content, in reminded me of David Barrowcliff and his Dad, Claude. Both from a time past......
  25. Somehow rings a bell with us old buggers!
