1. Toeing out is an odd thing to me. I was always told to get it down then dress it out, whilst others cut the toes off before felling which, in my book is a waste!
2. "Kettle wedge" - the chunk knocked out of a ton with an axe.
3. "Coffin Sets" - a measure of sawn timber, a good forester would have an idea how many were in standing timber.
4. I understand - and please correct me if I'm wrong, that Lloyd Ltd, the Ag and Groundcare dealers have become the Unimog dealer in the North of England and Southern Scotland. They took over from A C Price's who are no longer suppliers of new vehicles. Lloyd Ltd have a specialist Rep based in Newcastle to cover the sales.
5. 'Tushing' dragging felled and trimmed butt lengths to the 'Landing', 'Stage' Loading area.
6. Your Missus is only afraid of an uncertain future which is understandable, especially if you have been through some dark times. I wish you both every success and wish you both the fortitude to go onwards together as a team. Feel free to unload in here!
7.
Saw it earlier today. Originally belonged to Pete Mole, parked up as scrap and was in Globals spot awaiting to be scrapped! But they got it going again! Look at the size of the wheels, a real low rider! Belongs to a traveller in Brum.

8. What!!!! £22k!?! Wished i hadn't let mine go now! Jeez! Hell of a tool mind.
9. Is this one of the £1500 Chinese things i see on eBay? You are doing well if you get that kind of money for it, a quick return on the cost.
10. I'm up the road Dan, I'll ask a couple of folk.
11. Yes and no Johnny, the blue one is awaiting modifications to a two bar set up. The two bar set up was revealed at the APF as part of the rebrand that also included bottom bar units and the grey chassis and green livery.
12. Spotted in the factory yesterday.
13. Kubota engine dealer or machinery dealer. Or cross reference with filter supplier.
14. So very much like a CS100! But without the quality build, back up and support maybe! Don't you agree?
15. All machines have either a bottom bar or both on the Quads to satisfy a future requirement to be honest. Top bars will still comply and no retrofit kit will be needed for UK machines. The dark green units where intended for camo colours to make them hidden on site but identifiable if stolen! They were still green when last seen! I'll put the bid in for RealTree wrap, incidentally, I saw camo RealTree hunting clothes in Norway in highways orange! Deer don't see in colour!
16. This one did the rounds last summer!
17. I keep forgetting to keep this going! Here are a few pictures of the phone I'm using now. The dark green SafeTracs were originally ordered with the intention of them being camouflaged with other colours to make them harder to spot but I think the owner sent them straight out to work. If we were to build something special for this summers shows etc, what would you like? Current DPM wrap that is used by the forces? The DPM wrap used by car manufacturers to obscure their new models? Scottish tartan?
18. I do wonder at the mentality of some people who try to keep things running! Whoever looked after or used this was sure to become a candidate for the Darwin Awards. The safety or control bar is on upside down offering no protection and only minor control, even if they fitted the cable probably.
19. You had it on demo? Are you buying one then?
20. Erm. I think the story goes that there was an involvement many years ago which went well, the Turner family and the Peruzzo families had an accord as manufacturers. It would appear that after we asked them to handle GreenMech sales in Italy, their interpretation of an agreement may have had different interpretations from ours. Nuff said......
21. A heavier one has more momentum but takes longer to spin up to speed, a lighter unit slows down quicker but accelerates faster!
22. Why can I easily gain weight but not loose it easily?
23. Why is she always right, even when wrong?
24. The following statement has been issued to the press today. The following statement has been issued by British woodchipper manufacturer GreenMech, concerning their dispute with German manufacturer, Jensen Service GmbH: GreenMech’s Patent Infringement action against Jensen in the German Patent Courts, to protect its ‘Safe-Trak’ European Patent has been successfully concluded. Jensen have stopped production of their ‘X’ track. GreenMech’s unique ‘Safe-Trak’ wood chipper is the world’s most successful tracked wood chipper of its type. Designed to safely access, and operate on, difficult terrain the patented Safe-Trak system incorporates two independently adjusted track mounted legs. By extending one track at a time embankments up to 35° can be traversed in complete safety. With both track mounts fully extended a massive ground clearance of up to 600mm can be achieved for clearance of hidden obstacles enabling access to the most difficult terrain. This pioneering feature makes it a popular machine for de-veg contractors working on power line and railway track maintenance.
25. Rip the bottom hose off, refit and refill with water/antifreeze mix to the top of the radiator. Switch engine on and run for seconds, check level is to the top still and that should do it okay. Might be worth putting in some decent cold weather engine oil too.
