  1. I'm not sure if they use the EFI unit or the carb model. I'm told that the EFI is more fuel efficient.
  2. Existing machines exist! But on sites in London, plant and machinery will have to comply. Sub 26hp diesel engines will be exempt but things like the existing range of 35hp engines will become heavier, very complicated and expensive! If we (Inc all manufacturer's) add £5k to the buying price if a dub 750kg machine, would you buy it? We will carry on with our 26hp diesel but have already released our 37hp Petrol EFI sub 750kg platform.
  3. A very valid point made in a previous post - 'online is cheaper' hence no supplier up north as people try it on then go to the computer! I often say that a local supplier may be a tad dearer than a black supermarket but they are not local! Support your local dealers and they will be 'there' in a crisis and support you!
  4. Feel sorry for the chap's family. I doubt if the contractor believed his day's work would end do badly too. Commiserations to all the sufferer's.
  5. Sometimes, a trailer can be too 'light'. Our 1928 is a tad over 2000kgs. And close to your target weight if it has the light tiwer, winch and electrical recovery kit.
  6. Schliesing. Well, according to their website, that's how it is spelt. Predictive does change it as well!
  7. Not quite Dave, you spelt it wrong!
  8. GreenMech's tagline is "The Professionals' Choice".
  9. I have heard that GreenMech machines have been well with this and other stringy material such as Flax too.
  10. Aargh but! When I go to sell her, she had a continuous history! The number Isent transferrable so why the bother?
  11. The renewal has come in, although it hasn't moved and I keep renewing but I noticed that it says 'relevent' not certificate needed!
  12. Very sound advice, the chipper is the tool that matters. The trailer is a method of getting it there!
  13. What's the rub with not and car tax? Anyone run old stuff for fun? The tax is due on my 1948 hot rod and told it needs an MOT!
  14. Oh Johnny, you are a comedian! A real wag😝
  15. The Sycamore trees roadside up by British Sugar in Newark look poor but I suspect Sooty Bark. But Chestnut trees seem to turning already.
  16. Give Ash a ring, the number is above! He does look after kit well.....
  17. I have seen a bunch of poorly looking Horse Chestnut locally but some right healthy sorts elsewhere. Rempstone Crossroads look like their season is done already! What are they like near you?
  18. Good on you for posting Ash, am I right in thinking that you plan to get a hire fleet going too?
  19. Yes, it is 23hp, but we also have to quote the value of sound power so as to remind people of the need to wear earmuffs to protect their hearing. I suffer from Tinnitus, ringing in the ears, from years of not protecting mine when using saws and other noisy kit!
  20. What do you think it should say? Thanks for the heads up!
  21. We will all have to adjust to life without a sub 750kg at the right price if you want something like 35hp diesel. Exhaust emissions will mean that that engine will be very expensive and complicated with electronics, DPF and exhausts....All manufacturers will have available a 26hp Kubota or petrol. The 130 is a blinding piece of kit and we also do a 150 with 37hp EFI petrol too. Same chassis, axle etc, so built to last and built to work.

    Ranger woes

Got the windows back, the security switch was down so I'm a bit embarrased about that. But yes, we have had our issues with two of the GreenMech Rangers, one had oil pump failure but he stopped in time - Ford paid for that. Mine lunched on the turbo and Ford paid for most of that, they and the dealer paid for a DPF in lieu of the complete shambles that there service department made of the deal. Even the girl from the Ford Relationship Centre was loosing faith in them! While it is true that they have been okay apart from these two events, I would hesitate to get another Ford because the service departments leave a lot to be desired. Ford Bristol Street in Redditch to be precise. Not over helpful at Sandicliffe in Loughborough and have been let down by Shepshed Ford who previously should a willingness to be helpful.
  23. Put that down as a deposit and vat and get a new one with warranty! Low cost finance is available at the moment. GreenMech can subsidise this down further subject to conditions. A new 130 could be had for around £10k plus vat.

    Ranger woes

Three of my electric windows stopped working on Friday! Amongst other stuff, I'm not over impressed with the car and I find that the dealer isn't worth a mention except a bad one!
  25. Nice work with the PR, stands it well.
