  1. Tigers did for Gloucester again!
  2. Good Lord!!!! We'll spotted! It doesn't look right to me either now you say it. It certainly wouldn't help cooling issues on a achiness designed for a pull fan and I don't ever recall using a pusher fan for anything other test purposes. We'll done Jase, I take back every insult!!!
  3. The spec is listed on the web site of the Safety Police! Length and height of the chute and a way of disengaging the drive I would think. Good luck with your project and post up some pictures!
  4. Ring Global tomorrow or take out the spare and motor on down to your fixing supplier. It is likely to be an odd yank thread!
  5. Anyone got the official link to this or indeed, other such events nationally?

    Confor?

Anyone been to the Confor show? Any pictures? What was your opinion? Where did you see it advertised?
  7. I'll try and get to view, I'll look in my diary and see if I can even get a stand!
  8. Alan Oldfield at Beaver Plant in Stamford Bridge is the 'go-to' chap for Jensen I would think. He is having an open day tomorrow to show what he has for sale - he is even got the GreenMech chap to come up and support his fleet of GreenMech SafeTracs too.
  9. That was an Escort! Maybe.....
  10. Spot on reply! The current importer is PSD aka GGM at Colbert in Lancaster.
  11. Sorry, been without WiFi for a bit and busy during the day. The 202 with the Isuzu engine did have a "cold compartment' fitted so check that the front of the radiator is encouraged to only pull in cold air. As said, the radiator can silt up which can affect its ability to efficiently cool water. I have also heard of water pumps failing internally but not leaking which again can hurt things. Is the engine otherwise healthy? Friction from broken rings or bad oil is heat inducing too. I believe that all of these had extra cooling vents fired to the cover to allow the hot air to escape rather than waffle about before getting sucked through the chipper.
  12. Couldn't Trakmaster help, they were the original importer or dealer for MN the Canon? Not too sure if they even come in anymore so you may be struggling here.
  13. Quite often, GreenMech do ours to a loose 2mm blade/anvil gap. How much difference have you got? If it isn't a great deal, split the difference! Is the rotor running true or is it warped or badly machined originally?
  14. Good of you for posting Andy, welcome to the forum! Andy is based at Lloyd Ltd depot in Newcastle and they sell/service/repair a variety of grounds maintenance kit not just to mention wood chippers! So if anyone has any questions about other machinery/mowers etc, Andy will know a man who may be able to help.
  15. Just to confirm that the serial number of this stolen machine is/was 170049. If anyone goes to view a used piece of kit - please get the serial number and check the history with the original supplier. Even genuine sellars and buyers have been caught out in the past because they have not checked the full history or provenance prior to shaking hands. Even if the sellar seems genuine, please check and if they are genuine, they should not mind if you call!
  16. Spooky really! Was it a brace or a band to hang something from? Cable or light maybe?
  17. Platts Harris, the GreenMech dealer for Notts, Derbyshire and Leicestershire has had a new QuadChip Stolen from their premises in Tuxford. I'll update this post with the serial number later.
  18. Turners rebadged early Gandini chippers. When Gandini stopped supplying, we engineered our own. Further refinement has took us to where we are today. A global supplier and the biggest in Europe. Some years ago, we imported a unit made and supplied in Europe, this unit was good but it was low volume due to the price. We asked if they would re-engineer to a lower price and when they wouldn't, we decided to! All these other, low cost, imports do have a market but we sell ours through a dealership network which can support our products and our customers and that costs. Our higher priced units retain their value and are not chuck away items! You come to me and want to use your import as a deposit in a bigger unit and we can do business, but your £1500 device stays with you!
  19. I had a look at the Marcus advert for the Delek. Was quite surprised to see that one of the photographs was a Tech drawing of the CS100 cassette and drum! The Chinese stuff is a lot cheaper than European built stuff as their raw materials and labour are considerably cheaper. Incidentally, when the chute on the Delek is folded, is there an interlocking interface to prevent the engine from running?
  20. Stay mainstream, it will have a value at the end of your tenure and it will comply with Eurospecs and be better supported. "Pay cheap, pay twice or thrice and lived with your regret!"

Look at re-routing it? If it is possible, but bear in mind any future 'needs', suck the air out of the tank with a vacuum and while the suction is keeping the oil up, re-route the hose! Fit a tap too, we do on our SafeTracs.

Suction hose to main pump? Should be okay as hoses are pretty tough to be honest.
  23. Where are you based? Previous suppliers of the TP would be Osbournes down Southampton way, Ibbotts near Huntingdon, Price's at the top of Lancashire and now Jas P Wilson in Dumfrieshire. The shear bar could be built up by and re-profiled by an engineering company but sometimes, buying new is quicker and cheaper. As said earlier, my biggest concern would be that the controls satisfy the current HSE spec, otherwise, the machine is scrap. From memory, the TP system was fairly simple and easy job. A call to Wilson's with the serial number would be a good investment!
  24. Hydraulic systems generally have a 'blow off' valve which allows oil to go back to tank should the rollers get jammed. This, one some GreenMech machines is set at 3000psi, above that pressure, a valve opens to allow the extra pressure to bypass the system. Over time, this valve may work at a lower pressure giving the rollers less strength. If you find that value from TP or Ducker, have the valve reset to that and it could transform that issue. I would check that the controls function to the correct standard of today. This can be found at the Health and Safety Executive webpage. If it doesn't comply then some more work or alterations may be needed prior to it being used in anger. Blades should be sharpened uniformly so that the cut efficiently and to a degree, the balance of the rotor is maintained. The shear bar should also have a square edge, either buy a new one or have the old one built up with hard face weld and re-profiled on a surface grinder. Good luck with your endeavours and keep us updated - it is good to see someone 'have a go'.
  25. Well done on the re-vamp Steve! Well worth the effort and hassle in pulling it off!
