  1. I know stubby I'm just reminding him 👍 he needs to have a design a logo competition, maybe the winner gets a works port job or some thing.
  2. Nice job 👍 glad it was no hassle in the end.
  3. Steve when you get some stickers made up ??
  4. Depends how it's done though joe. If your tag lining it out of the dz like in regs video you only need one guy on the lowering rope the other guy can be cutting it up on sheets so it makes clearing up a breeze and its a lot easier using a big saw on the ground than spikes , I have no bother in setting and moving a block quickly enough not to waste time and once it's on the deck to muck in and help move it, depends on the site, tree or climber.
  5. Same as rich, I'd rather do 5 big bits than 30 small ones... I'd rather just fell the stem altogether !
  6. If you set the pulley with a timber hitch you can slacken it and slide it down. It does not take long at all this way and you might only have to reset the whole rig a few times.
  7. This is a good vid ,shows what most would use. [ame] [/ame]
  8. Been using a rigging plate with 6 meters of double braid instead of slings for balance point rigging , found it a lot easier to set up than slings as you have more length in the rope to play with and find the balance.
  9. That's my felling for you
  10. Exploding wolf beech from a few weeks back
  11. The dudes got no gloves !!
  12. http://www.cumberlows.co.uk Would be my first choice mate, just other side of Baldock which is pretty much letchworth now.
  13. Big hinge with bore release but keep on your toes for a explosion of wood or roots getting pulled up before finishing your cuts. Be careful of the saw getting stuck in the gob as well!!
  14. Dave I had loads of issues with 200ts maybe you are lucky with having dick on your door step to sort them but my dealer was hopeless and charged me full whack for carbs or repairs!! I think I had around 5-6 carbs replaced that I paid for and they always seemed to play up on critical jobs.... I even have one on the bench not working now. Carb boots splitting and Earth wires and the chain brake dog bones failed oh chain brakes snapping off... Always carried spare chain brakes and I know you claim to not brake one so you know I must be rough on saws mate. The early ones always had issues with fuel breathers and cracked exhausts, filter covers falling off. One good thing is I can strip and rebuild a 200 in half an hour from the experience.
  15. You don't need paint when it's invisible against the dappled bark.
  16. Agree Bob that and getting caught in falling branches ,jammed and wrenching it hard is going to finish a saw quick. I've pulled off a few 200 carb boots in my time smashed a 201 handle but my 540 is still intact... This is maybe because I gave up on 200ts and brought one of the last run of 338's that had the upped cc to be bigger than the 200t but still the same construction as the 540 ... I ripped the plastic holding the carb mount on, lesson learnt and if any thing you learn by your mistakes my 540 is intact after two years and it's with out a doubt the most powerful topper I've used. Had a 200 on for 5 minutes last week smokey ,lacks power/sluggish and the vibes are bad in comparison.
  17. shouldn't have but I spiked my way up to get a good anchor point and stand my ground that if anyone said anything - I'd have said FU - you didn't have to climb the ******! Also it is so high up the spike marks are invisible amongst the dappled bark. Sorry thought it was a joke.
  18. Has to be.
  19. Looks like it had a nice winch bumper... I bet that and other bits had been removed?
  20. Walk away ,now !!
  21. Think that's what I paid first time around ,off jonsie and it was a lot cheaper.
  22. Broken a couple of 150t handles, they are light and effective to use but construction is poor. One thing I noticed is the price for a new part was about a third of the price than the first one that failed indicating its a common fault possibly.
