  1. Deer fencing!.. Tbh I think its mad to plant or expect regen on coppice or natural regen with out it. I don't have a problem with culling if it's done properly and the gun knows what his target is and why he's shooting.
  2. On idle and not full tilt I can't see it being a problem... It would be like a well lubricated wash essentially diesel is oil any way I'm not sure I would put any additives or cleaners in though after my last experience of trying to flush a cooling system and the crap that stayed in afterwards.
  3. Yeah oil light kept coming on as the pick up filter was all sludged up, got to Say it worked ,also as tree swinger said about turbo oil lines I thought it could not do any harm as long as it was well flushed after.
  4. That's my back yard that burns about 10 meters from the front of the house. I understand what your saying and your concerns. I would like to see it turned back though.
  5. On that Bob , It's the only wire flip line I've used this year , great on big fir/spruce strips... Worthless for anything else though mind.
  6. I hoped some one would pick up on that... I once heard it being used as a ridiculous reason as to why they should not be reintroduced.
  7. Slows the flow at source I believe is one theory.
  8. I'd rather see deer fences. There is a massive skill in proper deer culling that requires full time Rangers / keepers to observe and count and manage , sadly with deer culling it's becoming more the norm as there isn't the money to employ people in the above professions so contract killers are brought in and shoot every thing on site... And the overall population suffers. In a whole I don't believe in culling as more animals just move in with no hierarchy and breed like crazy wether it's foxes, badgers or deer. I've seen keepers shoot a big dog fox and then have another 100 younger foxes move in and take its territory. There's a time and a place but are beavers really at that point already ? I would love to see them in my back yard but there's nothing but spruce!
  9. I was to lazy to drop the sump and clean the pick up filter. It's been fine since 2 years ago. Did the same last oil change on the chipper as well.
  10. Yes kill all those damn pesky beavers they eat all the fish as well don't you know... Just like those damn foxes and the devastation they could cause if they got in a battery chicken farm.
  11. I've put a 60/40 mix of diesel and oil flushed twice on tick over then a full oil change, its cured the problem.
  12. The farmi 260 chipper is good probablycan be picked up a bit cheaper as well
  13. 335 was a turd probably one of the worse climbing saws ever made the 338 was marginally better with the weaker spots ironed out ,the last run of the 338's also had more cc's than the 200 but the saw suffered imo with the same problems of robustness that all the husky climbing saws seem to have. I treat my 540 with kids gloves and it's been great one of the best saws I've ran ,infact it's probably helped me progress my climbing as your constantly thinking of positioning and not making sloppy cuts that could grab the saw and rip it apart!
  14. It has an ex's email address when I try and log in?
  15. Same as the one I log in with. I thought I had come to the end of filling out almost so clicked save and it disappeared! No option to pay either?
  16. They need opening up to get a bit more speed out of , I would not want to cut stuff bigger than 6-5" all day. The plastics very brittle for the handle ,have replaced two now.. The last one broke drop starting!! But it's extremely light weight.
  17. 395 and 560 are my go too saws but why not just get a 560 and keep the stihls , then all bases are covered.
  18. Ian you did a top job imo... I don't think any body is disputing that at all mate.
  19. Now I'm confused , cutting back to an inside branch the third of the size whilst doing a reduction is not drop crutching? I've always called it drop crutching. You can drop crutch a 2" branch to a 2ft or two meter limb it's still dropping out the leading branch to the next Union.
  20. No probs mate , enjoy the saw its a beast! I've only found the need to reset it if I've changed altitude massively or ran it blunt for more than a few minutes.
  21. I've always found some bigger than bar size timber and rung it up flat out with out letting off for 3-5 mins. It is stated in the manual to do it like this or was!
