  1. I would like to see colleges only taking students with a minimum of 6 months experience already in the industry.

The vibes mostly ... They are ok if your using them 2-3 days a week for a few hours. The filtration is terrible ... Possibly the worse I've seen on a saw, we still run a couple and it makes me cringe the thought of picking up one of the rattly heaps.

Hate the 460 so much I don't think I would consider the 461.
  4. Cheers daz your old girls working fine , a lot nicer than the JD to work with as well. I can see now what the fuss is about with the valtra/valmets !
  5. It won't noodle in knots.
  6. Looks good Chris.
  7. Winching with the 6400 today and found a summer pic of the JD 2650 pulling timber.
  8. It says clean the arrestor regularly in the manual if it's never been done...
  9. I cleaned out the fuel lines and carb a and it left me stumped on husky hedge cutter as it did exactly what you described .... Then realised the bloody thing was still in there !! Took it off and it was spot on
  10. Sounds like the spark arrestor ... Have you removed it?if you have not that sounds exactly like the problem.

    Bad dreams

Mate when I first gave up drinking about a year ago I went from average of 4-5 pints a night to no holes barred Friday ,sat and an all day session Sunday.... maybe a thirsty Thursday... Any way I had pretty much what you describe and it goes after weeks... I started drinking heavily again when I got turned over but have since moved and probably only go out once or twice a week and feel one hundred times better... You are slowly killing your self. I've had kidney stones and shingles and attribute them to being constantly dehydrated and run down.
  12. Good to hear they got nowt.👍 shame they didn't cut there heads off or some thing on the broken sky light.
  13. Faffing !! It's 30 secs with a flat head and long nose pliers so well worth the effort. If you don't clean them the engine will not run eventually any way so you might as well just remove and put them in a safe place incase there is ever a drought 😄😄 they were only put in for California fire regs anyway
  14. It bungs and restricts your saw up and it Gets worse the longer it's left on is what it does... Bin,destroy!!
  15. Got a new 576 yesterday it was about 70-80 more than I could of got it for... They fixed my logging tape for free so that's £50 saved on a new one.
  16. Bout 800 with Briant kesseck
  17. Deer fencing!.. Tbh I think its mad to plant or expect regen on coppice or natural regen with out it. I don't have a problem with culling if it's done properly and the gun knows what his target is and why he's shooting.
  18. On idle and not full tilt I can't see it being a problem... It would be like a well lubricated wash essentially diesel is oil any way I'm not sure I would put any additives or cleaners in though after my last experience of trying to flush a cooling system and the crap that stayed in afterwards.
  19. Yeah oil light kept coming on as the pick up filter was all sludged up, got to Say it worked ,also as tree swinger said about turbo oil lines I thought it could not do any harm as long as it was well flushed after.
  20. That's my back yard that burns about 10 meters from the front of the house. I understand what your saying and your concerns. I would like to see it turned back though.
  21. And me
  22. On that Bob , It's the only wire flip line I've used this year , great on big fir/spruce strips... Worthless for anything else though mind.
  23. I hoped some one would pick up on that... I once heard it being used as a ridiculous reason as to why they should not be reintroduced.
  24. Slows the flow at source I believe is one theory.
  25. I'd rather see deer fences. There is a massive skill in proper deer culling that requires full time Rangers / keepers to observe and count and manage , sadly with deer culling it's becoming more the norm as there isn't the money to employ people in the above professions so contract killers are brought in and shoot every thing on site... And the overall population suffers. In a whole I don't believe in culling as more animals just move in with no hierarchy and breed like crazy wether it's foxes, badgers or deer. I've seen keepers shoot a big dog fox and then have another 100 younger foxes move in and take its territory. There's a time and a place but are beavers really at that point already ? I would love to see them in my back yard but there's nothing but spruce!
