  1. Ocean polyester ??? Never liked the stuff for its inconsistency with a VT unless it's tied very short, I liked liros and roblon but they burn out quick. Never looked back since AP.
  2. This is probably not your saw then ?? 😄 only comparison of the two I could find on the net and the out come looks as I expected .
  3. Ahh but the dogs are the best bit... always have been!, as a kid I used to rob the dogs of my dads junked dolmars to make in to knuckle dusters... Like you do.
  4. Having seen some Rob D polished up I thought it looked stunning '
  5. That is a big top for a crane ! Nicely done.
  6. Can I put this in your mincer... Pointing to a pile of roots ,brambles, dead weeds and bricks. I used to do a bit of tree work. Can I have the logs ? Then tapping you on the shoulder continuously whilst your chipping up with a pair of loppers trying to cut every thing off down to 1cm twigs because you only cut the down the brash to 3" logs..., actually none of mine are funny just tragic.
  7. Exactly Tom with any saw comparison I want to see it with a bar and chain swap other wise it's bull really plus there's a few other factors as a regular user may push the saw where he knows the power band is peak and some one who's not familiar with it wont.... That was the only video I am aware of with a ported 560 vs 560 so why I showed it I think there is no difference between the two and maybe the 357 on a smaller pitch chain equals that the 560 has a shorter bar with larger pitch. Where did you get the dolly from mate, and how much ?
  8. Martin trying his ported 357xp on my 560 .... Martins 357 has a popup piston as well I think?! Really they should be on same pitch and bars as martin runs 3/25 and has a longer bar whilst I'm running 3/8's so for a fair comparison or even better the same bar and chain... And if he had told me what he was doing I would of sharpened my saw. If any body in the north east has a 6100 and wants to compare them I would be really interested.
  9. Is the 6100 same bar mount as 560??
  10. I would like a dolly to beat it but from what i have seen with my own eyes in a saw comparison I don't think any saw would touch a 560. I also think If that's true your friends saws were blunt or running stupid size bars.
  11. Best place for them!!
  12. I fail to see that.. On paper the 6100's heavier and has less power in real life and in the cut I would say the 560xp will destroy any 60cc saw in the cut you put it against .... And some 70cc saws as well.
  13. That looks really nice , did it move much after milling ??
  14. Put an order in yesterday rob , will it not be shipped until then? Sorry for hassling you on holiday!
  15. I just realise I put lease hire instead of hire purchase in my first post! To much interest on bank loans and you and the tax break is not as good as hire purchase.
  16. Don't have an old mondeo mate , maybe sticking them down the heating vents of the valmet or john Deere would work.
  17. Not with hire purchase like I got with my timber wolf.... I would not lease plant or a vehicle. Once you have paid off hire purchase it is yours, BUT you just pay them £100 a year after the payments have finished and when it's sold you tell them and that's the end of it and you keep all the Money... So you could sell it for £10 to a mate and buy it back again and not pay the £100 yearly fee at the end of the contract ,From my experience the chipper got stolen once I had paid it off so I don't pay them the £100 a year hire any more. All of it is tax deductible as its classed as hire , I would get any large machinery I needed like this.
  18. Just picked some green hazel nuts , could of left them longer but squirrels have already taken most of them! Is there a way to dry them or can they only be eaten green? Have tried drying them in the past and they have shrivelled up! Any tips ?
  19. Agree there. I would never get a bank loan again though, it's a complete rip off but if you lease hire a vehicle or plant you have the benefit of being a business expense and all tax deductible
  20. I had a jungle muffler for a 3120 and it kept burning off the chain brake lever ... Guess they don't use chain brakes in the rain forest!
  21. I would run it standard mate until it's out of warranty then send it off to spud, I found them strong saws out the box. I only got mine modded after I got chatting on the petrol pumps and forgot to add mix to the fuel so it needed a rebuild and thought why not mod it for a laugh but as standard out the box saws go the 395 is fine I would not touch it and give it straight to spud if you want more power but they are torquey beasts and modding done wrong will upset that.
  22. I loved that argument ... In the real world there are ladders or throw cubes that would prevent you tearing your body up on the ascent for sure but building up core strength for climbing is important , it would probably kill me now if I had to Prussik and roll that limb instead of bagging an anchor and clipping on a haas ,pantin and rope wrench to getup there!
