  1. Is the 6100 same bar mount as 560??
  2. I would like a dolly to beat it but from what i have seen with my own eyes in a saw comparison I don't think any saw would touch a 560. I also think If that's true your friends saws were blunt or running stupid size bars.
  3. Best place for them!!
  4. I fail to see that.. On paper the 6100's heavier and has less power in real life and in the cut I would say the 560xp will destroy any 60cc saw in the cut you put it against .... And some 70cc saws as well.
  5. That looks really nice , did it move much after milling ??
  6. Lol I was thinking the same.
  7. Very nice Bob!
  8. Put an order in yesterday rob , will it not be shipped until then? Sorry for hassling you on holiday!
  9. I just realise I put lease hire instead of hire purchase in my first post! To much interest on bank loans and you and the tax break is not as good as hire purchase.
  10. Don't have an old mondeo mate , maybe sticking them down the heating vents of the valmet or john Deere would work.
  11. Not with hire purchase like I got with my timber wolf.... I would not lease plant or a vehicle. Once you have paid off hire purchase it is yours, BUT you just pay them £100 a year after the payments have finished and when it's sold you tell them and that's the end of it and you keep all the Money... So you could sell it for £10 to a mate and buy it back again and not pay the £100 yearly fee at the end of the contract ,From my experience the chipper got stolen once I had paid it off so I don't pay them the £100 a year hire any more. All of it is tax deductible as its classed as hire , I would get any large machinery I needed like this.
  12. Just picked some green hazel nuts , could of left them longer but squirrels have already taken most of them! Is there a way to dry them or can they only be eaten green? Have tried drying them in the past and they have shrivelled up! Any tips ?
  13. Agree there. I would never get a bank loan again though, it's a complete rip off but if you lease hire a vehicle or plant you have the benefit of being a business expense and all tax deductible
  14. I had a jungle muffler for a 3120 and it kept burning off the chain brake lever ... Guess they don't use chain brakes in the rain forest!
  15. I would run it standard mate until it's out of warranty then send it off to spud, I found them strong saws out the box. I only got mine modded after I got chatting on the petrol pumps and forgot to add mix to the fuel so it needed a rebuild and thought why not mod it for a laugh but as standard out the box saws go the 395 is fine I would not touch it and give it straight to spud if you want more power but they are torquey beasts and modding done wrong will upset that.
  16. I loved that argument ... In the real world there are ladders or throw cubes that would prevent you tearing your body up on the ascent for sure but building up core strength for climbing is important , it would probably kill me now if I had to Prussik and roll that limb instead of bagging an anchor and clipping on a haas ,pantin and rope wrench to getup there!
  17. Max I would put on the 390 would be a 32" if that is still an option but you will always be thinking I should of got the 395, well that's what I did until I got one. My 395 is permanently on a 3/8 36" and I think it pulls it very well.
  18. Both on same bar and chain and the 390 cut first so I didn't blunt it with the 395! The results are as you expect I have always found the 80 cc husky a slightly lacking in torque for hard woods behind there 90 cc slightly larger brothers but unlike the same classes in stihl 640/660 there is a noticeable difference in chassis weight and handling and the 390 does feel good in hand, as for the stihl they seem to be almost identical like they could not be bothered to make a new design.
  19. Or you could just buy the 560xpg and be done with it as it will wipe the floor against the others on that list if your cutting for productivity.
  20. No !!! It's sitting still, I recon its reached its peak which was inevitable, plenty of new guys coming in under cutting everybody getting work and going bust when they can't pay the bills or realise it's a lot harder than they first thought thought and quit... The knock on effect is we are still charging and making roughly the same as 20 years ago when the industry started to boom. But!!!! If your good at your job impress the customer and offer good value I'm sure in time you can build a good business it just takes time.
  21. So it puts the efco on top? I would not mind trying one , had an oleo Mac which is the same brand and could not fault it on performance but hopeless getting spares. Back to the 560 though, looks like if you went to fr Jones as you did with the other saws you would of saved £50 +
  22. So if the 560 is highest in the cost score thing that makes it the worse?

    390xp vs 395xp

That's what I've done ... Saves a lot of hassle like you said.

    390xp vs 395xp

The bars off a 560 I'm nearly certain won't fit a 395... Both will happily run 3/8 chain though.
  25. Ahh I see.... that's a bit sadistic hey?! I suppose its getting people fitter and sharpening up techniques
