  1. Had one years ago, not a bad lid until I chucked a log on it in the back of a truck. My only gripe was I'm not a fan of peltor visors or muffs that I find fragile in comparison to sordins.
  2. Sorry to hear this. Did they use gas torches for the cutting?
  3. As Wolfy says and leave a a big as possible Evan hinge. Be careful with the teleporter as well , I once priced a large leylandii hedge felling job for a farmer very cheaply I will add and he decides to get his lads to do it instead as he thinks that is too much, so his lads cut through there hinge on a leylandii and it goes side ways taking a brand new manitu with it... Bent boom , cab and knackered engine and Farm insurance void because tree work was not on there policy... Strangely he asked me too finish the job off.
  4. Not much fun on 4ft plus dead oak with thick flakey bark cutting rings to chuck down and avoiding targets ended up with a 460 on the harness as well to start the cuts and cut the rings in to quarters so I could actually move them. Was very happy when we went back next day with cherry picker. Great fun though throwing big limbs and tops on open spaced smash bash jobs! Still prefer a 660or 395 though on a 36".
  5. Unfortunately it's been out of stock from honeys for months they do have some thing simular that's not on there web site that I would rate though. Personally I would not waste time on any other cord than armour prus , you can burn out Sirius in one climb I have found.
  6. They end up sucking in the crank gasket. The threads turn to mush were the bolt vibrates on it when loose and it's doomed especially if you let me put it back together after spud doing the major work on it!
  7. Me neither.
  8. Apparently it's just a bit bent and the clutch springs have gone!! The older 560's need there crank case bolts keeping an eye for vibrating loose and air leaks as there's only five, the new ones have six... Apparently it makes all the difference.
  9. Charlie h was one of the first people to get a 560 on here but it gone ran over by a duel wheeled valtra last week!! It's getting resurrected though.
  10. 560 is the king !
  11. Does not cost us more than £30 to get a blade tensioned and professionally sharpened and missing teeth put on. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  12. I like the idea of the hydraulic circular saw, the posch processors down fall is belt maintenance on the saw blade. It's not bad I guess you would tighten it weekly if doing 50 tonnes. So you weekly change the bar on the tafjun if doing max production ? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  13. Posch 280, most of are wood is soft and fits the machine perfectly.. we did look at the tafjun and the 360 seriously this year with the view of upgrading but a new tractor is taking priority over a processor. The 400 did look a good machine though and it would win in dealer support ,Seriously 50 tonnes per bar? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  14. 50 tonnes?!! I would not even look at it! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  15. My never blew out ,it just kept bending... But I would just re straighten it, was getting to soft though do replaced it. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  16. The bar looks bent ?? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  17. You are putting the strop on the silver ring not on the plastic fella ? You will loose your saw other wise!! I'm still on the original but then I will always clip the saw back up and have only dropped it on the strop a handful of times. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  18. The only thing I don't like about the rope guide is the trapeze .. The old desighn with the screw was much better, I have found the trapeze can clip it self in to the eye end of the rope resulting in a stuck device... Then you pull it as hard as possible and your £47 out of pocket for a new one! At the end of the day I suppose any pulley rated will do. For a bit of practise though I would try a VT for the hand over hand style ascending as it's the exact same as ascending you will be doing as on the SJ unlike a Prussik or Blakes single hand thrust. 19. Get a ART rope guide... If you don't all ready have one, the main reason the climbing is so slick in those vids is because of the rope guide ... The same style frictionless climbing can be adopted on advanced hitches and be as fluid, but the SJ will not be as fluid with out the rope guide. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  20. Using the same crates as Kevin , strong and light , also make good fuel container carriers with all the fuel spill kits two cans and spare two stroke. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  21. What model is the valtra ? My life needs a day glow green timber grab... Very envious. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  22. Owned a few until the valves popped , one was a bag of poo from the start with carb and fuel issues and the 4 stroke thing produces far to much torque for the shafts and gear boxes creating other problems... Would never buy another. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  23. You know its your favourite subject !! .. The 540 experience thrown you mate?? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  24. Looks like some one picked up a Victorian tree pruning book and put in to practise ? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  25. Ahh but they are not perfectly engineered !! See the photos in the square ground filling thread of new chain, round filled new chain is exactly the same I have found , big flat spots that can be drastically improved with little effort. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
