  1. That was its original bar from one of the first 500i , it’s had two nose sprockets on ..one a few weeks before 3 t of ash pinched and rolled on it popping the saw apart anyway.. I know years back I had 200ts which had the spark plugs helicoiled back in … they never lasted though , I’d just buy a new head or saw.
  2. I never found the spark plug on this one… would not like to guess where it went 🫣

    Chickens?

    I’m guessing stoat mate
  4. Still a lot of work and money goes in to get 10 birds a gun. im no expert Alex but most I ever picked up was chatting to keepers in the pub afterwards, one of them ray was an absolute legend , quiet composed man who had been a marine In the Korean War then came to the estate I lived on at the time, he had personally planted and looked over the woods since then .. taught me more than any book Ive picked up since.
  5. They where supposed to come back on the market when I spoke to arbortec over a year ago , I really liked them as a boot but the only saw boot now remotely similar are the pfanner juchten or Tyrol and I’d still prefer the fellhunters… why anyone can’t make a decent upland walking chainsaw boot considering the terrain of woodland and felling sites and all they seem to do is churn out multi coloured clown shoes is beyond me.
  6. Reducing for the sake of reducing because they feel pruning will help the tree with out a valid reason then yes … I’m quite convince we have saved many trees from total collapse when reducing for the right reasons though… some times I think it can accelerate decline if done badly .. basically by folk who can’t be bothered to put the effort in and cut everything out to make it an easy climb or won’t go further for what ever reason.
  7. There is that but it’s probably the tastiest bird you will eat... I might take a couple but I’ll only do it if I see 30+ flying over me in half hour. Beating on a shoot in Durham and they must of shot 50/50 with the pheasants be never seen as many and the guns didn’t even get a shot off at the majority, again when I beated down in Cambridgeshire you might of seen one in the entire day despite the woods being like swamps ! I’ll walk up there most nights just to watch them… snipe is something I rarely see now , I used to be able to see 3-4 in an evening on a 30 acre stand now I might see one a year.
  8. Petition: Do not merge section 1 & 2 regulations on firearms licenses PETITION.PARLIAMENT.UK Keep section 1 firearm & section 2 shotgun licensing separate. I think this would help to protect law-abiding owners, the shooting industry, & rural communities... Only around 60k signatures so far …with 800k gun owners it’s a bit disappointing … so if you haven’t already !
  9. I did see the other day that more Nigerian Christian’s have been murdered in Nigeria than the total of Hamas supporters in Palestine … but no I genuinely don’t think they need a taste of there own medicine, the Jewish state and its people have fought for there survival, I do feel obviously for the Palestinians who have had land taken off them but in the far bigger picture it’s insignificant to what is happening all over the world.
  10. I’ve not met many Arabs or Muslims who have not wanted to wipe Israel off the face of the earth , Has Israel launched any nukes ? Do you not think that maybe Iran would have had a pop by now like all of its neighbours …Them having nukes probably deterred Egypt , Jordon’s and Syria trying to invade again.
  11. I didn’t know that… I genuinely thought every one drove around the outback with an old 303 hung in the Ute
  12. Agree arming civilians in Alex’s world is not a good idea , if your a civilian of a country it doesn’t and shouldn’t give you entitlement to firearms unless vetted for valid reasons with back ground checks to do so..if any thing I would say ozzy gun laws are too lax if jihadists can arm themselves. As for this talk of ww3 and the absolute (unt Starmer pushing us closer to the brink every day ,we are still bankrupt from ww2 , the outcome was still the same the west vs the east with Germany still being central whilst America sits on the side lines to all wanting to control Ukraines resources …it is like watching a replay …this madness needs to end.
  13. What you doing with him Alex ,Beating ? I took my spaniels out at dusk for some woodcock …. Arrived a bit early but at around 4 .30 the flight lanes came alive but I was nearly home and had unloaded the gun so just sat and watched them for a while darting and weaving in the wind … tbh I’d rather watch them anyway unless I’m counting 50+ coming past.
  14. I just keep going back to the pfanner nanosheild , although eye watering for a jacket that I usually get full of thorns or put a 395 dog in as I did to a brand new one this week they seem to offer the best in comfort and work best to the layers I use to keep warm or more importantly cool when working , I like the pocket layout and detachable hood too. only Swazi I ever owned I could not wear for work as even in minus conditions it was too warm!
  15. We have a tracked 235 cant fault it, I would not go back to another brand , plus points is the galv chassis is strong enough for a decent winch which I think if you have a tracked machine it is a game changer , I know a few makes that have folded and bent when they have had winches fitted , they go on forever and although overland are the other end of the country to me we find them bang on for help and parts … they are very agricultural machines so easy to work on if you have some mechanical aptitude. problem I think is with forst Is once you have bought in to them the resale is so bad you are kind of stuck with them as no one else really wants to touch them … which is fine I guess if your happy with the machine and your trading in for another once the warranty has ran out.
  16. Have you tried Feild and forest?
  17. Aye that’s probs what we did .. was 5 + years ago so can’t remember what we did … I know it was dark when we left though !
  18. To be fair I did a big wellie maybe 75ft , still about half that size with and for a member on here a few years back it was an utter ball ache getting it in to a spiral.
  19. Not sure rich It was a while back … possibly in America or could have been your mate.
  20. Apta launcher was good , probably the best out of most the alternatives, as long as you had a good pump. my throwing was not great , just practice for 15 mins once a week and it will improve massively over a month or so. big shots are ok , with out sounding like a wet wipe the forces of what you need to propel 12-14oz bags up a tree are potentially lethal , didn’t some one die a year or so back when a pole collapsed or elastic broke ??? , I would just buy the stine one and save yourself the time and have some piece of mind.
  21. They are loud , I had to have permission and notices in the natural trust car park that was on that job warning people what the noise was.. will make your ears ring anyway. Basically it’s a dog dummy trainer , you just need to modify the dummy with some weight other wise they ricochet all around the tree and you have zero chance of getting the line back on the ground.
  22. They are wank krammykins, **************** off for miles and don’t come back as I imagine a cross bow bolt will too , I added around 16oz of lead to a blank dummy so I could actually get it down but it’s pretty pointless when you can polish up your throw line skills and hand throw and isolate an anchor at 70ft. here’s mine in action. 23. I was looking at the notch carbons as my old geckos are wearing a bit thin…. Nearly 1 k !!!! I’m gonna have to buy some carbon fibre and add some strips on !
  24. I must admit I’ve not really being paying much attention to new climbing kit , looking around as I replacing most of it the other week I was surprised to see how much stuff was notch.
  25. @Steve Bullmani think you had to show me how to use the first one I bought at Caple years back…..after a few beers it wasn’t working for me.
