    Waterproof

I had the first Harkie smock , it was really warm and clammy for heavy work , was pretty rain proof though . Got the Sip jacket a couple of years ago and much prefer it . Have never tried the newer Harkie it may be better .

I quite like the husqvarna orange t shirts , not as tough as the pfanners though.

Replacement hip and splitting logs manually

Feel for you , I remember the pain well and hope it never returns . Hopefully you’ll get some relief soon . In my experience the painkillers that took the pain away precluded me from normal life , so I made do for years on co codamol 30/500 , I was 10 a day laterally , not a good move !! Just keep nagging the medics .

Replacement hip and splitting logs manually

Hi Baldbloke , What type of joint did they fit ? Reason I’m asking is I had a replacement in 2013 after being diagnosed in 2000 , mine is ceramic and the surgeon told me it would see me out !! I’m 58 by the way . Anyway mine has been great and I am doing everything as normal but it was fully 2 years before the twinges and aches stopped fully , so don’t go mad on it too early . Good luck 👍

how to deal with an employee

Real hard one this , I have similar problems wi one of mine , likes a smoke too much . Always having to be told everything three times and forgetting stuff on a regular basis but is a good worker and not always on his phone and never off work . The driving thing is a real pain as it ties you up start and end of day , I eventually got fed up with running after him and told him to make his own arrangements or get a new job . He ended up buying a 125 motor bike . Dunno what the solution to your problem is , good guys are hard to find so it’s a bit of a double edged sword . Best of luck
