  1. I was to lazy to drop the sump and clean the pick up filter. It's been fine since 2 years ago. Did the same last oil change on the chipper as well.
  2. Yes kill all those damn pesky beavers they eat all the fish as well don't you know... Just like those damn foxes and the devastation they could cause if they got in a battery chicken farm.
  3. I've put a 60/40 mix of diesel and oil flushed twice on tick over then a full oil change, its cured the problem.
  4. The farmi 260 chipper is good probablycan be picked up a bit cheaper as well
  5. 335 was a turd probably one of the worse climbing saws ever made the 338 was marginally better with the weaker spots ironed out ,the last run of the 338's also had more cc's than the 200 but the saw suffered imo with the same problems of robustness that all the husky climbing saws seem to have. I treat my 540 with kids gloves and it's been great one of the best saws I've ran ,infact it's probably helped me progress my climbing as your constantly thinking of positioning and not making sloppy cuts that could grab the saw and rip it apart!
  6. It has an ex's email address when I try and log in?
  7. Same as the one I log in with. I thought I had come to the end of filling out almost so clicked save and it disappeared! No option to pay either?
  8. Same problem.
  9. They need opening up to get a bit more speed out of , I would not want to cut stuff bigger than 6-5" all day. The plastics very brittle for the handle ,have replaced two now.. The last one broke drop starting!! But it's extremely light weight.
  10. 395 and 560 are my go too saws but why not just get a 560 and keep the stihls , then all bases are covered.
  11. Ian you did a top job imo... I don't think any body is disputing that at all mate.
  12. Not on really at all !
  13. Now I'm confused , cutting back to an inside branch the third of the size whilst doing a reduction is not drop crutching? I've always called it drop crutching. You can drop crutch a 2" branch to a 2ft or two meter limb it's still dropping out the leading branch to the next Union.
  14. No probs mate , enjoy the saw its a beast! I've only found the need to reset it if I've changed altitude massively or ran it blunt for more than a few minutes.
  15. Me to.
  16. I've always found some bigger than bar size timber and rung it up flat out with out letting off for 3-5 mins. It is stated in the manual to do it like this or was!
  17. I did have a 200t with the stihl carving bar on for pruning, coronets ect but the rails wore fast, the 150t bar fitted and worked as well with the same drive sprocket... Saw was stolen but seeing yours makes me want another.
  18. My new 560 does this as well sporadically, like its on half choke? Blipping the throttle solves it but it's not an ideal thing to happen especially next to a wire fence just after it's been sharpened.
  19. Yeah that's me then ,Oh dear ! They sure to me don't feel 26 though. This was my original source off a thread on Arb talk from the distributor ... In hindsight it's not clear as she gives two different figures through out the thread and this ones the later. I can only apologise for the disinformation ! Whoa, 🐎 !! Steady up boys before you go chopping up old ear defenders and shoving them into Protos!! Here's an Advisory Notice (that you probably know already, but just to confirm).... This practice is not recommended by Protos and if you do alter the specification of Protos and/or it's components, product warranty from Protos/Pfanner would be instantly voided. (Same applies with the application of stickers to the helmet). At the moment Protos ear defenders are rated to 23SNR. Protos are working on increasing the rating but maximum is likely to be around 27SNR as the overall thickness of the ear defenders needs to be kept to a minimum to enable the ear defenders to 'park' up inside the helmet. Some Protos customers are happy to use ear plugs when working chippers etc that require higher SNR rating. Some news... Pleased to advise that integrated safety glasses for Protos will be available soon. These will attach onto the headband and when out of use will slip neatly up inside the brow area. Also a plexi-visor is being designed too, so you can switch between mesh visor and clear visor. Cheers, Y 😊
  20. That's quality mate 👍
  21. That is pretty appalling !no wonder my ears feel like they are bleeding with any thing bigger than a climbing saw. Any feed back Evie ? I tried mailing pfanner months back and no reply. I may have to try the cotton wool thing.
  22. Sounds more promising for sure.
  23. How did you get on with the new saw?
  24. Cheers guys , that's a good start hopefully it's the valve screw .
