  2. Morning all - last grass cut of the year for a local doctors surgery, clear the car park of leaves etc. dry would have been nice but light rain here from 8am - at least it’s a bit warmer
  3. Wordle 1,617 4/6 ⬜⬜🟩⬜⬜ ⬜⬜🟩⬜⬜ ⬜⬜🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  4. Unless of course you are Travis Head 🙂
  5. Yes I think so. My mother had both carpal tunnels operated on
  6. I've no idea what you're trying to explain, as that picture is just a standard hydraulic valve setup. To make splitting quicker you just auto return the ram and touch the lever at the right spot, you could just bolt something onto the I beam to act as a stop if you're only doing 10". Providing it is strongly attached it'll trigger the relief valve and job done.
  7. I wear a Deerhunter smock, keep me dry but outer layer of material is like a sponge and takes ages to dry. Good leggings are needed as legs get soaked.
  8. Surely that's misuse, like ragging it on full throttle while the clutch slips? Otherwise I can't see how to wear the inside of the drum so much before the teeth come off the sprocket.
  9. I agree with much of your analysis, though I think they take the bias further than you do. And over the years I have liked plenty of their non-news output. There is not a perfect solution and every news outlet has an agenda of one sort or another. What I think is wrong is for the public to be forced to fund the BBC. The license fee should have been abolished as soon as there became a viable choice back in the eighties. If the BBC are that good they will have no trouble attracting subscribers. To demonstrate how wrong the current system is, in my household we don’t watch any live broadcast TV except my wife and boys watch the Grand Prix which we pay for through Now TV. But because they watch this live I am forced to fund the BBC. It is like shopping in Asda but there exists some archaic law that means you have to pay fifteen pounds a month to Tesco even though you choose not to shop there.
  10. Looks like the Europeans really really need to wake up regarding Russia. The edited clip below is from a Ukrainian friend from Odessa, we were on the same ship for 7 years. Everyone has become accustomed to this difficult war. Imagine how hard it is for the soldiers on the front lines. I have some friends who are Marine Corps officers, and they're like zombies now, doomed and depressed. It's almost impossible to talk to them. They just stare at one spot and say nothing. More and more people are ready to surrender to Russia. People are tired of the bombings and living without electricity and heat. I'm starting to think about where to move, because if Putin subjugates Ukraine, everyone will gradually be sent to prison or to fight against Europe on Russia's side. It's all very sad. If this continues, we will be captured by spring. I am currently working at BOSKALIS, and the same ship, Sea1 Spearfish, is now in Brazil. My family is fine, my sons are abroad, there will be no future for them here in Ukraine. If I'm in Scotland, I'll come and visit you. That’s from one of the most upbeat optimistic guys I know, Sadly the USA looks like it’s turning in on itself very much like the isolationist movement pre WW2, people maybe forget how strong that actually was. Time to spend big on defence not net zero nor other nonsense, the ex forces guys on here have witnessed our armed forces being gutted for years whilst successive governments and PMs don the camo jacket and grandstand for photo ops know exactly what I’m on about. Ive 3 sons who have done their national service in Finland, a country with less than 10% of our population yet an armed forces and civilian defence infrastructure hugely more capable and equipped than ours. The UK and Europe has seriously dropped the ball here “ with the exception of one or two”. Climate change, trans rights and all the other western leftard bollocks will be a long way from anyone’s priorities if we really have to get to it against a determined adversary who doesn’t give a shit about casualties . The UK as was stated a few days ago currently has zero plans in place to deal with any form of missile or mass drone attack. Let that sink in !!! No plans 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️basically every man for himself.

  12. Fxk no. They're comical with their crazy heat, and have a weird but nice flavour. Not that easy to grow here though..
  13. Hi what model is the clinometer? thanks.
  14. Try and find a NRV to fit before the filter to stop leak back, maybe strip the mechanical lift pump as it may have rubbish in a valve prevent a good suction/pump.
  15. They dont do one, only full size die grinders. That would be like using a Stihl 500i for pruning a fruit tree.
  16. One of the two is harder to get spares for,i. Can't remember if its the 3 litre or 1.9. Poss the 1.9 as farrier had one and spares were hard to get and expensive also, things like the turbo and also how something like the manifold was crap Please correct me if wrong .
  17. However a woodland isn't a short term thing so you probably have the time to do that. The mindless ones might flatten a few but once the rest are established the gaps can be closed over.
  18. not posted any, but have hundreds of the sunset out the window, some nights cannot help but take a couple
  19. Radmore Tucker is local to you?
  20. I have a husky 525rx for stuff like that. Light and very good anti vibe and fairly cheap Battery strimmer's are ok but don't have very good run times & will cost more for decent ones but worth considering if you already have a load of compatible batteries. Bigger strimmer will do the job fine also but heavier.

  22. Looking at it id go in tripple , maybe quadruple the price, the job i looked at that was a pound a whip was easy, soft ,clear no roots ground and no coming back either . I did a job once like yours in staffs, (timberhonger) going was shite ,3inch of peat then the rest was a mix of quartz and roots .. the stumps weren't cleared off site and the aim was to plant 1500 whips a day ! Wasn't doable . Have you got much else on in the was of work . To be fair the trust that asked me to do the planting showed me other quotes not named , for 2 row hedgerow with natural clumping and a zig zag pattern, random clusters of trees 350m, was 2k and 3k respectively .guarded ,staked and no stock replacement either Not worth ****************ing around with

  24. Got a couple of days in milling scots pine with a view to getting a drying shed up, very pleased with the mill
  25. Evening all, I'm looking at a change in occupation, though I'm currently employed the desk job is killing me and I crave the outdoors. I've been busying myself on my work holidays undertaking my CS30/31/38 - but not 39 yet (there's some logistical complications having done my initial 30/31 actually as the ICC1/2 course rather than with lantra before I found out the 2 similar course providers though practically identical aren't recognised by each other....). In my spare time I've really enjoyed and been climbing, pruning and felling for friends and neighbours (mostly farmers who are happy to get odd jobs done for free/for wood). 2026 brings another 6-8 weeks of holidays and I'll happily take them early on getting some experience helping out a local firm preferably around Cumbria. So if any one wants a free groundsman, or climber with his own kit for a few weeks here or there, in return I can get some experience of what doing tree work for a living looks like rather than for fun before I finally take the plunge and make the switch full time please get in touch.
