  4. i had a quote from a solicitor a couple of weeks back for a litigation matter and it was £265 plus vat per hour
  5. Think that was a bit of an urban myth 😀
  6. 🤷‍♂️ Mind you the one industry that is doing well under his tenure is the arms manufacturing sector, plenty of blood being spilt and dollars made under Joe.

Yes, that's the kind of thing I need. Is that 15 or 22mm cu pipe? I figured that 15 would be too small, but maybe not.

    Jokes???

I was so depressed last night thinking about the economy, wars, jobs, my savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc., I called the Suicide Hotline. I got a call centre in Afghanistan, and when I told them I was suicidal, they got all excited, and asked if I could drive a truck.
  10. What do you mean by a flat anchor?
  11. With the greatest of respect there should be no need to keep adjusting carb screws, having to adjust the mixture is very often masking engine issues, auto tune is very reliable, it will keep the saw running at peak performance without the need to fiddle with adjuster screws, one of the main reasons I see is users ordering new auto tune carbs from dealers then find they do not run as they only have boot firmware on them, then they need to be connected to the service program.
  12. Went through something like this a few years ago with a hedge trimmer that you could not tighten the blades ( shoulder bolts through the blades) the blades then tear the the non woody spindly parts of the hedge rather than clean cut it.
  13. So it's just more complexity for a simple engine and more things to go wrong. Yey for more Chinesium in the scrap pile.

  15. Well I've also just got hold of Makita's baby 18V cordless rear-handle saw, the DUC357. It is not advertised as having an inertia brake by Makita UK but I did find Makita Canada mention on their product page that it has one. Low and behold I was easily able to get the brake to come on with the nose-drop test for the DUC357. Definitely some mixed messages from the manufacturers.
  16. Hi there, can you delete my profile and all associated info from arbtalk please as I no longer have a need for it.

  17. From reading up on the internet limewash seems traditional. Also seems some german companies make special paints https://www.amazon.co.uk/Etisso-Alsam-Trunk-Protector-White/dp/B07B26DCPF https://www.amazon.co.uk/White-Paste-Against-Frost-Damage/dp/B004QBBKYY Lac balsam one mentions it will last 5 yrs Old thread on sun scald
  18. Thank you, I added a photo in a separate reply of the overall tree I completely forgot when I posted this initially.
  19. Not far from you, right on the Surrey / West Sussex border. The Bread and Butter type jobs are very slow atm. No doubt the elections will generate more 'wallet cramp' with people waiting to see what happens - like it will affect them..🙄 Got a couple of nicer bigger jobs to do, one mid June and the other subject to TPO permissions but there's a good 2 1/2 weeks of work on those for 2 of us. Small jobs seems to be cobbling a week together at a time, Luckily I have a few other things like the charcoaling which are coming into busy season for us to be bulking out the diary with. Strange times though.
  20. Apologies for not following up but I thought I will give update and ask few more question before I plant new trees. Bad news is that it was dead. I did see a lot of green fungus on trunk so my best guess is it was because of fungus. There was another tree crabapple tree 15-20 ft from this that is also dead but other tree are not dead. I will be digging these tree out in next couple of days and plan to plant new trees there. Now question is what can I do so my next tree in same spot doesn’t die? I would still like to know if what was the problem and how to avoid that? Any ideas to understand the cause?

  22. Been back. Some photos of the bench. Just love the bat though
  23. I've been running veg oil in my saws for more than 15 years. Never had any problems, except possibly this one but I'm not convinced it was the oil itself! I think bar oil is not worth the money to be honest plus it's bound to be more damaging to the environment.
  24. No sadly we never heard anything more. Interesting finds tend to go to museums or archeological societies. We move onto the next project and very rarely any updates 🤷‍♂️ Regarding the brownings it would be great to get a serial number and identify the aircraft. Some of the guys are on the nearshore intertidal clearance at the moment. Nothing interesting so far but defo a novel way to get over the mudflats 👍 fbac7903-b9da-4604-b760-f87117699cb8.mov
