  1. Surely someone can give me a ball park figure, I`m not asking for a written quote, just a guide to go to the landlady with.?
  2. Ok perhaps I am not too far out then, as fairly new to having my saw and nose close to the ground the filter was getting full fairly quick, but no more than you describe. CHEERS:001_cool:
  3. She is only into "hold ups" but me dear old Ma has some 1000 denier tights with a cork lined gusset.... Will give them a try:blushing:
  4. I need to improve the air filtration on my 62cc Timberpro Chilling saw (Chinese Milling ). the picture shows the stock filter which is far from ideal. I don't know if any major manufacturers filters would fit, or what can I do to help stop the fast clogging and carb choking dust build up. I have thought about replacing the gauze with foam / oil, but what do you suggest?
  5. Surely that's what's happening on Axe men when Shelby and the others pull the logs out of the swamps..... the timber seems to fetch a premium. You would think he could afford a new shirt!
  6. Stihl (pun) on 25:1 figured a bit more oil may extend the life when milling as its at full throttle till the neighbours show an interest......
  7. Well I will have a play, as its hobby milling for me the effort and time involved is irrelevant in some respects. As for vibration I have nothing to compare it to........ Well not that I would admit to........
  8. Sound similar to my experience with the Timberpro 20". See my Chinese milling thread.
  9. I need a guide on removing a couple leylandi so I can go to my landlady with a price. Trunks to be left at 7' as uprights for a wood store. There is a bt cable running through them but shouldn't be an issue. No access for mewp etc. I am happy to be labourer site in nr12 Norfolk.
  10. That sounds like common sense...... Didn't think that was still in existence
  11. Ok so I am getting the bug now and want to fiddle a bit. As I said currently using out of the box chains with the usual 30 degrees angle. Without resorting to buying ripping chain what can I do to improve the standard chains, www says 15 degrees and a 10 degree off horizontal, is it really going to help my mill or am I just filing for the sake of it? Lastly what setting for the depth gauges do they need to be set slightly lower than normal. Honest opinions please!!!!
  12. I cant see it being in the traditional vein with metal amour squires and the like. But a modern take as in full metal jousting would be great. Kevlar amour, carbon lances and cameras in the "pits" seeing what shoes were being put on the horses (wets or slicks)and the tweaks to amour and kit between rounds...........
  13. Many years ago when working for a motor factors, the batteries were all from the same manufacturer, the same battery exactly the difference being if a 5 year warranty was offered by the motor factors the price for the same product went up 20% and a warranty description was added to the invoice which had to be presented in the case of a return. As stated just an insurance premium.
  14. There are some very clever people in this world....... Lovely work
  15. I have done a couple of handles a long ways back. Layered maple and ebony on the tang then lots of hand finishing and oil. Looked good though and a great way to use little off cuts of quality wood. I am no expert though.
  16. Just stuck a drain surround to a concrete rim with the expanding up stuff, little spray of water to ensure bonding, also used it to stick a paving slab onto a step when the mortar failed, 3 years in all weather and foot traffic and still stuck. It's just using what's right for the job. For a lot of my repairs I use the 151 epoxy, £1 a syringe, goes off in under 10 minutes and never had a failure.
  17. Olivander at Diagon Alley has competition :001_tt2:
  18. Noooooo....... Just a little practice with the gouges, not difficult to get spindles even, they don't need to be mm perfect.
  19. Well I did some milling yesterday ( not as hot I know) and nappy rash at 51 due to PPE is not funny, however the alternatives are worse, and I do it for fun not a living. PPE is there for a reason, uncomfortable or not, imho.
  20. He knows his trees!!!
