  1. Oh yes and my patented slabbing rail for smaller logs...... Laminate flooring plank.
  2. Well another 5 tanks through the Chinese mill today, this time fitted with the Granberg milling chain, must admit no noticeable difference between the Granberg and the stock Oregon chain, maybe a tad quicker, but it did cost half the price of the saw itself so better get some use out of it. Lol. I keep waiting for problems either with the Timberpro saw or the Chinese mill but as yet they haven't missed a beat, sure the saw is a bit thirsty, yes the mill is not made of the Alaskan quality materials but it does what it says on the box and all for under £150. As I said on my previous thread it has paid for itself on the fist outing and now it's all a bonus.
  3. I use an aircap with a battery pack which goes in your pocket or belt, the later ones have it integral to the cap itself. It's light easy to wear and provides a positive stream of cool air behind the impact shield. Have a look at The Toolpost . The aircap is superior to the Trend imho. S.
  4. These flower heads were turned from a snaffled branch overhanging my boundary ditch. Turned green it was like being in a rain shower with all the water held in the wood. Dried out fine though.
  5. Looks better painted, could the black be done by scorching more to keep it more in keeping with the rustic appeal?
  6. If you get yourself arrested you can have a free DNA search!!!!!
  7. Its a no brainer when it comes to safety.
  8. Yes, they are done by Mike DEMPSEY here on Arbtalk have a look at his website Pens Of Distinction. He is a talented chap and has done a couple of laser engraving jobs for me to a very high quality. S.
  9. Have it custom airbrushed, good talking point as long as it still protects your noggin!
  10. Simply finished with Danish oil.
  11. Our local police station is being demolished and I grabbed a bit of laminated work top. It was only 32mm thick so instead of the obvious cutting boards I turned this shallow platter for a local farm wedding venue.
  12. Our local QD store is doing green plastic jerry cans (20l) they look to be of decent quality, same design as the army type but screw on pouring spout.
  13. As a hobby miller I couldn't stretch to an Arb dog so went with the "brash" cat!
  14. Seconded, ordered a Granberg milling chain Friday, arrived Saturday am - Great service.
  15. I think if you ask for payment after the course is completed there is no incentive for the customer to cough up. If the customers are genuine they will abide by paying prior to the course and as already stated like some hotels etc. a staggered refund policy if cancellation is unavoidable. At the end of the day your good lady needs to earn a living.
  16. Got some little logs, i've only got 14":blushing:
  17. Ok received the milling chasing in under 24 hours. Thanks rob D. Yes 78 drive links on the 20" Oegon bar is spot on so I gave it an oil fitted and run it just to settle it in. Re tentionedand all looks good. Went to wood pile to get some milling done and now run out of reasonable sized logs. So donations for the ongoing Chinese milling or Chilling thread required. Lol. The saga continues.......
  18. Just had a peruse myself, some great advice and information, good pipe to!!
  19. Me to only ever use Danish oil as a finish, hope it smells good? Currently using Rustins, but have tried Bird brand and Liberon S.
  20. Seriously..... I will check tonight but am confident that I took the word of the packaging on the original chain instead of counting, the chain definitely has 78 drive links on the Oregon chain, the cheapies had 76, so hopefully all good. Then need a lesson on sharpening the ripping chain!!!!!
