    Tiny echo!

    My wish also
  3. Echo for me. does just great, switch still works a year down the line, starts easy, just takes a minute to warm up and then it out blows the Stihl easily
  4. Good for you Stubby. Happy Birthday for the other day. I suppose I'm too late to get one ;)
  5. A local Echo dealer quoted me £520 the other day when I enquired out of interest when I was passing. he checked stock at the importers and could have had it for me the next day. I only enquired as I already have one waiting on my regular dealers bench at a better price for the body only, which this dealer wouldn't quote for! As far as comparisons are concerned, IMHO the Echo will still be going long after either of the other brands. Two Stihl 261's new back in April were scrap within 3 months. Replaced with Echo 450's (as 501's weren't available then) and not a single problem with them since. A thought. Perhaps Echo haven't shouted about it as they don't want the same problem they had with the CS390esx last year, where they sold the whole initial batch within days and couldn't get more fast enough!
  6. I'm in
  7. I've done 4. 3 on Cunard 'Queens' and an 'Easycruise' round Greece. Enjoyed them all. Good atmosphere and food/wine. Would do another tomorrow if circumstances permitted.
  8. Is Nikon better than Canon?
  9. Stihls are like new years resolutions, all broken far too quickly! Happy New Year
  10. Nice one. And a Happy and Prosperous new year to you Ian
  11. Thats right Agrimog. I remember trying to sharpen a plane blade on the kitchen step as a seven or eight year old. They were coarse shavings, but I got there! Father had no idea how to look after tools, he was a pen pusher by trade, so I learned the hard way. Still hand sharpen everything I can, even if its only for the satisfaction. Got a 16 year old starting with me in the new year (end of the school year) so he'll get taught the proper way. Already does Saturdays and school hols, so he's getting the idea, and his coffee is almost up to scratch!
  12. Mine is on my dealers shelf, just waiting for me to put the pennies together and get it to him
  13. A few of the older gits, like me !!
  14. Dealers have the new CS501sx in, it's a more modern design than the 550 and just as powerful
  15. Too many tools. No such thing!
  16. Yep, nice one :)
  17. Yep, just done it. Worldpay takes paypal
  18. OK, for a second choice, somewhere with a lot more bigger trees ;)
  19. I've lived in Thanet (the far eastern tip of Kent) for around 50 years and seen many people say how great it would be to live in so and so, but more often than not, when they move there it seems they're back inside a couple of years. Therefore I'm quite happy where I am despite reports of it being greener on the other side! :)
  20. Bought a Timbery M100 a year ago now. Paid for itself inside 6 months, and would do so even quicker if we had a way of loading the bigger logs. Will do 2' diameter. Not the fastest mill on the market, but does us fine making rustic furniture etc.
  21. Nice one Si
  22. Try a new blade
  23. You got a date for that yet Si?
