  1. Available on iPlayer for another 29 days. Thanks for the heads up
  2. That's the best way to go
  3. Seconded
  4. We used These people They were OK and tailored to chainsaw stuff.
  5. That's quite a normal reaction.

    Tiny echo!

    I'll go £120
  7. The Stihl and Oregon ones don't fit in my Echo saws, the Stihl not at all, and the Oregon is tight, making it a pain to get back out again. Mine is doing fine but the ones the lads use knackered just as fast as the Stihl ones they had before them. They are half the price of the Stihls though!
  8. That's another week gone!
  9. nice one Ian :)
  10. As above. Excellent carving with edge tools or saws. Carved some last week at Bowood. Takes detail well, with a good finish. Non Durable in natural form, so preserve or seal well and mount clear of the ground if using outside.
  11. I asked a week ago, through your website, if you could do loops that fit the Sugi R7 bars, but got no reply!
  12. As Chippy says, it is for setting the blades when changing/sharpening. To be honest, I've never used them, setting with a steel rule as I was taught when I was a lad! Any planer definitely needs a 4" extractor with a decent airflow to work well. I have a JET 12" thicknesser (to eliminate the problem with the FOX) and it was supplied with a 2" spigot on the hood. Absolute waste of time, so I cut it out and adapted the hood to take 4" pipe. No problem after that.
  13. The Fox is a ribbed rubber belt. Mine snaps regularly Other than that, it's a pretty good machine for he price.
  14. That Fox planer /thicknesser does the job, just that mine eats drive belts on the thicknesser regularly. So much so that I now only use it as n overhand planer and have a dedicated 12" for that side of the job. Spare parts though, are readily available in the uk

    Echo cs420

The 390 will out-perform it, more modern design and cracking saw. :)
  16. An Echo would still be under warranty!
  17. So disappointing! Nice carving mind!
  18. Nice one Ian And yes, I agree about the cammo
  19. At present my Echo 501SX is running a 24" bar without much trouble. It ran 18/20" bars easily even before it was run in, and the Echo's take a bit of running in before they reach their full potential. I would think the measurements given above are taken on new machines, so you can add a good percentage to the Echo power figure. Just my opinion though. :)

    Tiny echo!

So Rob, which is the better chain for a 10" R7 for example? Have you managed a comparison yet?
  21. Need to be looking and applying in January, not August!
  22. Does this mean the end of the Hooters Si?
  23. And a unique feature. Added value to property? Conversation piece. Lots of reasons for.
  24. Keep plugging it. It is becoming a more common option, but still an expense many don't want. We probably only score one in 30 odd suitable stumps
  25. Thanks Simon, it's ukulian Certainly that area is within fairly easy reach
