  1. Thanks guys, turned out to be black poplar anyway
  2. Does anyone know what lime is like to carve with, have been offed a tree that has come down if I want it
  3. Hi Bazoo, the Echo CS310 is not easy to setup as a carving saw as the 1/4 sprockets are not readily available in the uk and is proving a sod to get out of the states too as the American version is a different spec, if you are looking to go Echo would recommend the CS281, I know its a bit more outlay but it's lighter, more compact, easy to setup as a carving saw and seems to be fast becoming the weapon of chose Regards Lee
  4. Just order the rim p/n 543767 from Rod D at chainsawbars.co.uk or I have one at my place, (I'm an Echo dealer)
  5. If I'm right that is a rim sprocket on that saw, if so Oregon 1/4 9T sprocket Part number 543767
  6. Shame you're not closer to me, sounds exactly what I'm looking for
  7. Cheers Mark, might have to take you up on that even if it's just for a couple of days, you might be able to give us some pointers too
  8. Does anybody out there know anyone that has a corner of a yard or similar in the Cranbrook or surrounding area for a couple of budding chainsaw carvers to carve our little hearts out
