  1. Thanks Rob. I'll order one next week. I need something to counteract this: Echo CS 390 ESX, 20" Quarter tip running 1/4" chain. Had to mod the oiler hole a little, but awesome combo Many Thanks.
  2. Are you doing that 8" Sugi-light dime bar as a stand alone item Rob? As I type, it's not listed on CSB.
  3. And it's a good saw to boot! Did you not look at it at Carve up the Coast Si? It was the one with the 14" dime Sugi-hara bar on
  4. Yep, yard is behind Quex Park. Plenty of carving area. I look forward to it.
  5. Birchington. Halfway between Herne Bay and Margate from you. CS390ESX is a very good saw IMHO. Power of a 45cc saw, but smaller and lighter. Mine's still running in at present (all Echo's take a while to reach their full potential) but impressed already.
  6. Absolutely brilliant. I now have 3 (280, 352, 390) and am thinking of adding a 360 I see you're in Kent. You are welcome to come along and try them.
  7. Echo CS-280WESC Carving package 360WES Carving Choice
  8. Well done Simon. The 640 mile round trip was well worth the effort. A good day Some more to follow
  9. Turned up an hour ago, many thanks.
  10. Got to mention that WM spares and backup is first rate. Is that the case with Nor wood? Long term' it has a bearing on profitability :-)
  11. Ordered two a couple of weeks ago. Nice man phoned to say 'out of stock, be back in on the 18th' As I'd not heard, I phoned yesterday to enquire and was told you hadn't had any for ages and they were being re-manufactured! Pointed out that had already happened and was told they all went out quickly (Different to first reason!!) and the re-stock will be another week. Any truth in this?
  12. Still do, still works
  13. I'll give you a ring in the week Jus.
  14. Cellar is a bad idea. You need airflow!

    Yew timber

Maybe, but it's a criminal offence to burn it in my book! Turns well, makes fine furniture, carves beautiful and looks great! Why burn it. Let's see where it is and what it looks like before that route is even considered!

    Yew timber

'Cut it for firewood' is not the best advice, especially on a milling forum! Certainly not without pictures or an idea of the location / size. Yew can be one of the most beautiful of timbers and is certainly the most durable of the softwoods.
  17. Axminster do a 1 day introductory course on spindle moulding if that's any help. Spindle Moulding
  18. Hi Dave, does that include my Timbery??
  19. You are correct Steve, I remember it well. Was working for the local authority at the time. they had us out cutting fallen trees with chainsaws for 3 months before they thought 'Oh, better get them some training!'
  20. Makes no difference if it's already felled but how you intend to dry it would make some difference. If air drying in the open, leave it 'til autumn. Under cover or kilning, do it now'
  21. Good work Si. Nice finish for chainsaw only
  22. Done
