  1. The bit ringed in red is the visor plate, it stops it sliding up the tree if you Chuck big lumps into it in a dismantle.
  2. How much was it? And was it like for like? Some kits don’t come with the visor plate. I wouldn’t want to be acused of false advertising - No one likes a wonder bra 🤨
  3. Closer to you than most 🤣 happy to post out or personal delivery could be possible if there is somewhere local to park the camper up one weekend 🤔
  4. We gave up the tree game at the end of March and this is still here. They are £2.7k plus VAT from honeys at the mo for the same set up (but out of stock) It is in very good condition and not seen masses of work but when it has it has saved a fortune in time, and even a crane! It has been serviced and greased each time it was tested, and will come with its LOLER paperwork (last test was Jan 22). It currently has one slightly damaged rubber foot pad (about a fiver) Included is: Base plate with strap, handle etc Lifting winch Lowering bollard Visor for cutting into the trunk on take downs. a couple of spare feet (but not the one that is worn) Looking for £2000 delivered to Englandshire (No VAT) I would be happy to send further afield but would need to check haulage cost/import duties etc
  5. Thought it was a twin rope bag? You’ve only got one in it! Cracking picture 👍
  6. Lawn fertiliser/moss killer. A contractor with a Green thumb franchise killed a pine and wrecked a London plane within a season of getting the lawn “care” contract at a old customer of ours. I’ve no proof but that was the only thing that changed.
  7. Chain saw 🤣
  8. Don’t discount the bigger predators they do need careful maintenance but are a extremely capable machine.
  9. Bloke up the road has a dog called ivy, it pees up trees but doesn’t kill them so it is relevant

    Jokes???

Why oh why? I can’t unsee that and it’s just plain wrong. My eyes are bleeding 🤢🤮
  11. Looks good Dave, there can’t be much the micro bull doesn’t do. Cracking tool.
  12. We have nice rock don here, the Isle of Wight is quite chilled it even has its own time zone, about 5 min behind the north island 🤣 the down side is the tourists in the summer but everything has a comprise
  13. Fine here last night for diesel but they had run out of petrol on half of the pumps, said delivery was due this morning so not worried. Is the short supply because building sites have just had to order white not red?
  14. These guys are said to be very good http://www.svtech.co.uk
  15. The Strauss trousers will do you well. They are good value for money and far more comfortable than many of the cheaper offerings 👍
  16. I gave up with wire strainers like that, now everything is done with gripples, nice and tight with minimal fuss and messing about, you can pull a full roll of barbed up in one go from the middle if you need to.
  17. @Billhook hope you have a good recovery, looks like one of those ones you are going to catch on everything you touch 🥴
  18. Pickled most things I can get my head round and enjoy but red cabbage??? Your a bunch of rong uns the lot of you 🤢🤮
  19. My though was also Ash but can you show us more of the Cat? Cracking machine 👍
  20. I’ve just hung up my harness at 39, could of carried on but sat in a tractor feels better on the body these days! After 12 years of climbing and running a business I had got fed up of people and there unrealistic expectations more than getting to old to do the job!
  21. Cheers guys, I’m going back to driving them.
  22. Today is the start of a new chapter for us. Thankyou to all the usual people here for there words of wisdom over the years. After a 12 year stint the time was just right for us to move on, as of yesterday we have shut our tree team down. Im going back to tractors where I came from for a change!
  23. I’ve got a ww1 canvas bag like that, it reminds me of my dad and both grandpa, hung off the air precleaner of the old cabless tractors.
  24. We have a bigger Stockton 8 (or 10?) It’s 4 year old and had about 15 cube a year through it for 4 winters it is wore up. All the insides have deformed to the point we are looking at having to replace it this year once we let it go out. It’s not been abused and we don’t think it has offered value for money at all, needless to say we won’t be having another one. That said we know of a different model stovax that has done 10year of service burning about the same quantity as us that is still in fantastic condition and looks like it will do plenty more years.
  25. Shhhh don’t mention the other shade of orange!
