  1. I’ve got one of these bars: SL2U-4N35-A Sugihara Light Type Pro [Quick Cut Version] 14"[35cm] WWW.CHAINSAWBARS.CO.UK SL2U-4N35-A Sugihara Light Type Pro [Quick Cut Version] 14"[35cm] 3/8 Lo Pro .043 50 drive links. One... I ordered it ages ago but managed to order one for the wrong width chain. It’s been sat on the back of my bench for months, few marks as expected but unused. £25 (ono) plus vat delivered to your door
  2. Also look at a skip chain if you want to go bigger than your saw ideally likes.
  3. Keep the 181 for trimming up etc, put the bigger saw in the mill 👍
  4. @Dave Alviti deals with them, nice guy and easy to deal with. Frank Alviti - Antonio Carraro - Alpine Tractors FRANKALVITI.CO.UK
  5. @aspenarb Would it work the other way on, I’m thinking using the bucket ram to move the grinder whilst in work to make it more controlled
  6. True Mick but a decent ifor or Brian James trailer won’t lose much value over 3-5 years. If you have the funds I think it’s a viable option as you also have a sensible truck or van when you don’t need the trailer. And you can save one lot of insurance and tax.
  7. 4x4/van and a 3.5t tipping trailer gives far better payload than a 3.5t tipper
  8. Chuck a strap over it, that makes everything fine to be on the road 🙄
  9. Having owned Chinese 13hp grinder with almost a brake on one wheel up to 30hp tracked grinders the large pedestrian grinders like the predator 460 size is by far the best return on investment and also the best allrounder.
  10. Forest and arb stock big size boots, cracking folk to deal with 👍
  11. It’s happened, the kids can tow again with out taking a test New rules for towing a trailer with a car from 16 December 2021 - GOV.UK WWW.GOV.UK The rules about towing a trailer or caravan with a car changed on 16 December 2021. Find out how the changes affect you. good or bad im not sure, it’s good for the like of my kids that can drive most things since they were old enough to reach the peddles BUT bad that town folk can use stuff they don’t understand
  12. Can the Sherpa run a flail etc?
  13. Ask about possible engineering solutions. Also ask if anyone at the council can answer how much more pollution is caused by traffic slowing and speeding back up to pass your car parked on the road in comparison to a (possibly but probably not) slightly smaller root area allowing you to park off the road?
  14. Tree officer, every council will have one.
  15. The cs100 will also still be worth a premium when you step up to a bigger chipper in a few year time. Buy the best you can afford, it makes sense in the longer term.
  16. How much is the cs80 @GA Groundcare? It may fit the budget better. If not take a peek at The wheeled version of this perruzo, it may be a bit cheaper than the cs100 and is every bit as good. I’ve used the tracked version lots and it punches well above it weight as will the green mech cs 80 or cs 100 However from a moral point of view it is a shameless rip off of the greenmech, if that worries you. https://www.ryetec.co.uk/peruzzo-tb100-chipper/
  17. Those triple snap things can be hard to open, they don’t just fall open. One bad one doesn’t necessarily mean they need a recall. If proper inspections of climbing kit are done you should find problems like a sticky gate long before it fails.
  18. That proper old school mick 👍 When I was just the lad on a site I saw a (reportedly experienced) groundy take a wrap around a giant garden gnome, it didn’t end well, it must of been one of the only tree climbing gnomes, it’s career only lasted one climb and it was game over 🤣 if your going out for a takedown it’s bollard every time other wise a porta wrap or we got a set of rigging rings made like a cambium saver so they can be pulled at the end easy, or put in with a throw line when you have one limb to do that wants a high anchor to rig off. I do use natural crotch but the rings give more consistency of friction
  19. Mick has the best answer in my mind, deciding which is best for the situation comes down to experience, it will take a couple of years at least till you don’t stop and think, and just do.
  20. No idea, if cold throw more wood on, if hot strip off. Poss warmer than some, we have melted the log holder bar across the inside of the door into somewhat of a different shape🤣
  21. THIS ADVERT HAS EXPIRED!

David Brown 885 loader tractor (1979). In working order runs, drives and hydraulics all work as they should. Loader has the original muck fork and a later added crane jib. clevis drawbar and pick up hitch. Aprox 4100 genuine hours (see pictures) The tractor has been in the family since 1984 when my late father brought it, it spent all its working life in the Cambridgeshire fens until about 10 years ago, About 5 years ago I brought it down to the Isle of Wight and it hasn’t seen much work since. engine and gearbox/hydraulic oil and filters were changed at 4000 hrs. It’s has had no mechanical work apart from servicing in the time the have owned it, It is still wearing it factory fitted front tyres. The poor points: There are a couple of lighting issues, the first being the rear lights got broken and have been changed for trailer lights. The original ones are included but need new lenses. NO Extra holes have been drilled so can be switched back easily. The headlights and the switch have been changed but they only work intermittently, believed to be relay or wiring The front tyres are showing there age but hold air and will go round plenty more times. the tip cable for the trip muck fork on the loader needs a replacement . The tractor has got some surface rust over the bodywork but is still structurally sound. the pictures show the condition. £2750 or very near offers. This is a genuine machine with a genuine reason for sale, open to sensible offers. happy to collect serious people from the Yarmouth ferry port (traveling from Lymington) to view

    £2,750

  22. Your not alone Mick, my usual is saw batteries that haven’t been charged
  23. Eggs I’m not good with solutions but I’ve seen it from many sides, all the best finding your solution. It takes time but suffin will flick the switch to turn the light back on hopefully someone/thing will flick your switch somewhen soon 👍
  24. There isn’t many folk left that can work a proper manual lathe to that standard 👍😎
  25. Do the job, then work out what you would of charged, add some for your Agro rearranging the diary, add some for call out and add a bit more for extra profit for the extra agro. Forget the hourly rate if you have the go ahead and work out what the job was/is worth after. if you have to give a hourly rate before hand I would work along the lines of £x per man hour £X per chipper hour £x for the tractor/loader etc etc that way you can roll out any toys you need knowing there earning there keep.
