  3. EFAW F course had a video clip horror compilation Worse one was some guy bouncing around on a rope like a rag doll whlist being repeatedly crushed by a huge log that was being rigged down.
  4. Barbours chair wacked in head
  5. Disappointed in the x27 abit lightweight so have to use more force rather than using weight of head its ok for perfect logs with no knots It depends on type of wood neeeds splitting different woods suit difference type of axe. For best all rounder prefer a maul for anything really stubborn easier just to use chainsaw. Haven't tried a huge range of posh axes etc would have to use a load of different ones to decide on best abit obsessed with axes Want all theese for xmas ? ? WALDPONY Leveraxe X39 Helko Bruks Simplex maul
  6. http://www.timbersaws.co.nz/product/229-timbersaws-rami-lopper How come they use they for platation brashing in nz but not uk eu etc? Thought a chainsaw would be less work than a giant lopper, think of the arm workout after a few 1,000 cuts.... Thinking that they would be ideal for volunteer conservation work when chainsaws not allowed, clearing large rhody etc.
  7. Used a portek type one thought it was rubbish When cutting coppice I just attack a massive pile/bundle with the chain saw was alot faster.
  8. How bout one of thoose hippy/permaculture rocket stoves. 10. So tree over 12ft need alpine tree surgeons? What is an alpine tree surgeon one thats being up Mont Blanc?
  11. Whar size saw would people recommend using on c32 only have a ea4300 think it will be underpowered in comparison to others on course may be using & don't want to overheat it making it struggle cutting big diameter stuff. I know is says 15" or 18" bar but they don't mention saw size. Thinking of getting the ea7900
  12. Maybe this for wegde pouch https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hunting-Hiking-Military-Molle-Belt-Tactical-Paintball-Magazine-Dump-Pouch-Bag-uk/392188735864?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140122125356%26meid%3Dfd26651d54ff46909bc58b74e145e3c8%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D11%26sd%3D123474847533%26itm%3D392188735864&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851

    Mower rip off

Alot of reviewers saying they have being ripped off: https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.mowdirect.co.uk Company seems legit nice website etc but looks like there scammers.......
  17. Shipping cost is very cheap as % of total costs. https://www.raconteur.net/finance/high-sulphur-fuels-shipping New regs to try make it abit more green^.....
  18. Intetesting. I think the main impact to landscape will be loss of hegderow trees (ash the most common one locally) as woodland will regenerate other species replacing the ash, but the hegderow trees won't come back as any new trees are flailed. Thats want happened after dutch elm, massive reduction in number of hegderow trees, countryside just looks more bleak since with miles of hegdes with fewer trees along them.
  19. I want a sugi just coz they look cool. Speedcut is lighest with narrow kerf chain??
  20. Shame no one manges any of the hazel round here its all "overstood" suppose the economics just don't add up.
  21. Some reviews/infos here but not direct comparison have being looking for same thing https://opereviews.com/trees-forestry/chainsaws/ The new 18v makita topper chain speed alot faster than the 36v version which is odd....
  22. Also how about bar length?
  23. Some EU money gets redistributed to poorer countries & regions of countries for development projects. As UK overall is richer than places like Romania etc less comes back than put in. Click net contribution: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/8036097.stm#start On the other hand it has helped poorer bits of the UK like the North & Wales etc that otherwise wouldn'r of got funding from a UK goverment that tends to favour the SE of the country hence forcasts saying certain parts of the UK will be more ngeatively affected by brexit. EU generally seems more progressive with regards enviromental protection policies than the UK goverment is This has meant the EU grants for enviro stuff.....
  24. This is interesting regional beech hegde style in germany not laying though https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monschau_Hedge_Land http://www.euregio-im-bild.de/wandern-entdecken/eifel-1/fotostrecken/flurhecken-im-monschauer-heckenland.html?page=3 Got any pics of large diameter beech layed it doesn't grow in hedges here.
