  1. I asked about splitters a while ago and I can't find the thread. I have a small electric 4 ton splitter which is alright on perfect wood with no knots but I wanted something bigger and mobile. I recently bought a Black tools 18 ton splitter from woodmanstore on eBay. I took it down to the farm yesterday and we split a trailer of seasoned stuff we'd cut up and it didn't baulk at anything we put in front of it. I tried it in the upright position on some biggish rounds and it cracked them no problem. It has a Loncin 6.5hp engine which is only running about 1/2 revs and didn't use much fuel in the hour it was running, I have to get the hang of starting it but am getting there. It arrived in a crate and took about 3 hours of assembly I needed a hand to fit the ram section but once it was together with the wheels on it was easy to move round single handed.
  2. There looks a lot of wear on that stud to say it screws into a plastic chassis. It must have been spinning free for some time to wear out like that. It does look like it's had some abuse and I don't mean verbal after it bit you.
  3. Did you put clutch in the search otherwise you could be searching for a piston little end bearing which is smaller.
  4. Cut the spare threads off with a hacksaw or Dremel.

    Jokes???

Ice cream van caught fire on the street today, the fire brigade are there now just putting the cones out.
  6. If they are not high carbon steel you are wasting time and fuel heat treating the metal and they need tempering after or they will be brittle. Case hardening is only a surface treatment.
  7. Not familiar with 026 but can you fit the fuel and impulse lines the wrong way round, get them mixed up ?
  8. Nobody has just said NO ?
  9. We don't usually get them till a couple of weeks into May so I'm not looking yet but we have had some warm days and clear skies till this weekend and now it's grey clouds but still warm. I walk up to the higher ground locally to watch them when they are here. They always seem to appear there before we get the lower down.

    Scam?

Is it a scam ? It's half price, what do you think ? Enter into a dialogue with the seller and listen to the excuses why you can't pick it up and pay cash then report it to eBay via live chat. They are not very quick but they do take the listings down eventually.
  11. Black of course, you don't want silver on that. It does look like vinyl with a cloth backing, 3M do repair kits for vinyl and leather seats.
  12. Do I have to check to see which is loudest ? Get ready neighbours.
  13. Day of the Triffids was on Talking Pictures freesat 306 last night, spooky.
  14. Just put a plastic bag on your head, job done

    Grief!

My MS460 did that and would die after a couple of seconds when run flat out, new fuel pipe and back to normal.

    Grief!

Say what ? Is that the warm air diverter for winter running ?
  17. Depends what size wood you're cutting ?
  18. JB Weld or Araldite if you can get enough in there.
  19. Is it a speech impediment, did you ever marry because that is an important part of the service
  20. I'll get my bow and arrows and my hoodie

It doesn't work like that. If you take the Nikasil plating off the bore it needs replating.
  22. The clutch will always engage if you don't have a bar and chain fitted, the added friction of the chain will stop it even with no brake.

    Covid-19

There was report of a police person getting a bit carried away and telling someone to go inside from their front garden. Police have apologised fro her conduct. https://videos.metro.co.uk/video/met/2020/04/10/6197600224552664338/960x540_MP4_6197600224552664338.mp4
  24. We were supposed to be having thunder but it never materialised, got plenty done in the garden yesterday and today and even got a bit scorched yesterday.
  25. Puller for a clutch ? Should be on a left hand thread.
