  1. In the original post he asks about adding STP or similar, I imagine to help with the fling. If you are thinking of environmental reasons this is definitely counter intuitive as they are hydrocarbon based.
  2. Does it record the hours like the 560 telling you how many hours on tick over and flat out ? It looks like a trip to a dealer with software capabilities to find out, no good guessing unless you know its history for definite
  3. I've just bought a cheap Coda Spirit 13.3" laptop from Ebuyer, £99.95. It's not got a big hard drive or fast processor but you can fit a SSD and it's only for looking at the internet in a different room while watching telly or Youtube while fixing things and it's brilliant for that.
  4. For the scooter I downloaded a timing disc picture from the internet and printed it to size then stuck it to the flywheel. I used an old spark plug with the middle knocked out and a 5mm bolt through the middle to make a piston stop, turn the flywheel one way then the other to mark TDC then turn the flywheel back to get the advance you want.I got it to 22° and checked it with the strobe and it seems to work.
  5. To be fair they were getting their dole as well though
  6. Get a box of 100 nitrile gloves to wear under them in wet conditions, only about a fiver.
  7. No it would be cronyism or nepotism, the exact opposite of conflict of interest
  8. Did they put the plants in after you extended the bungalow to the property line ? Have you had any other dealings with the neighbour as it looks like it could get complicated and expensive.
  9. Friend of mine got a 3 week ban and very hefty fine about 10 years ago on the A515 doing 95 in a 50 trying out his new Golf . He was called to court in Buxton and tried by 3 magistrates who he said were all old spinsters and had it in for him.
  10. Do the gubbin mint send you a cheque or is it paid into your bank ? They told me my double glazing would pay for itself then still asked for money after it was fitted ?
  11. I think anything is better than nothing, I don't think you can be prosecuted for not wearing protective gear. I wear a pair of Husqvarna bib and brace over my ordinary trousers or shorts but they are a bit warm in summer. I'm only a firewood collector , I might invest in a pair of the Screwfix trousers for next year.
  12. Are we not leaving the EU now?

    New saws

    It's prettier
  14. It just fell off and got lost, can't say for definite it was broken
  15. I took one out in our garden (it was blocking light from wife's veg patch), started at the bottom and worked my way up the stem cutting branches off as I went. I don't envy you as they are hard wood and evil thorns but there was no effect on the ground after I took it down and I drilled the stump and killed it with weedkiller. I wouldn't get too hung up on ground heave from something like that just get it down if it is in the wrong place for what it is although the birds do like them.
  16. I'll chuck my change in whatever charity box is on the shop counter but there is a food bank at the church just up the road from us and the first thing the customers do as they come out is light a cigarette and get their phone out to call a taxi. It makes me a bit sceptical when cigs cost so much (I don't know actual price but my mate who smokes is spending £80 a week on them)
  17. Batteries go to the scrapyard, I took some up just to get rid and got £40 for them. I think I would put some Onduline bitumen ridge over the top of what is already there after scraping the moss off, do the whole length for not too much money.
  18. Get some cheap cellulose thinners to rub it with, shifts most things and smells great.
  19. When I was a kid I had an imaginary special friend only I could see, till he ran off with my imaginary girlfriend
  20. Anyone who sees a psychiatrist needs their head looking at. ?
  21. It sounds like it's running rich at the top end of the revs probably to keep them down while it's running in. Did you buy it new?
  22. You should get out more, go into town and shout at traffic or something Is that your workshop Don ?
  23. Get a sheet of wet and dry taped to a flat surface and rub the sides of the saw flat to sharpen the majority of the tooth profile.
  24. A bit like David Carradine then
  25. Cutting wood is my guess
