  1. If you say his name three times he is bound by mystic law to appear, a bit like Rumpelstiltskin or Beetlejuice. I think you are just waiting for it to happen and are disappointed he has kept away. More credit to him than you
  2. It looks like the Aarrow Ecoburn, they are quality stoves not cheap. Just close the griddle to burn wood and open it up if you switch to coal or coke.
  3. I set my wife on looking and she keeps ending up in the car park next to a big yellow chipper
  4. Mmmmkay [ame] [/ame]
  5. If you can close the bottom plate you can burn wood on it. The bottom air slide is for burning coal or solid fuel with the bottom plate open so it would appear to be aa multi fuel stove.
  6. How big is he ? You lead the way egg
  7. I took Voltarol for my shoulder and it upset my stomach. The doctor prescribed me Ibuprofen and after a couple of weeks that did the same so I went back to putting up with the pain as the squits is no fun at all.
  8. Wayne and Waynetta name their little girl after you. Spudulika Slob.
  9. I have one badged as LTS or something from ebay as it was the only top handle I could buy not having any tickets (plus it was cheap). Apart from the tickover thing it has been ok but it doesn't get much use so that could be why it doesn't have the other problems.
  10. My theory is a rivet will spread out at the back and seal both sides if a long enough one is is used.
  11. The rivet centre is sealed, an ordinary rivet would do it with the added seal of the chemical metal I suppose as long as the ball stays in the stem. On the Avdel site the ones called structural seal the stem with the ball
  12. If it's the external part that broke you could weld it back together with a sleeve over the join.
  13. How big is the hole ? Drill it round and put some chemical metal in the hole then a blind pop rivet while it's still setting.
  14. Certainly not old chap, pass the caviar and quails eggs and top up my Bolly would you
  15. A friend of mine ran a shop on eBay and had some real tales of woe and crap to tell. He always sent by courier with signed for delivery but people still claimed not to have received items even when they had signed and they got their money back from Paypal and he had to prove they were lying.
  16. Set a trainee on with a saw cutting anything over 4" for firewood instead of chipping it. I cut and season it for our stove whenever I can get hold of it as it's a lot easier to load in than big split chunks.
  17. Still not a good excuse though is it Mark ?
  18. And the cheeleaders
  19. Friend of mine just bought a David Brown 770 unrestored and is getting it fixed up. He just fitted a new clutch and it drives now but has a few leaks that need sorting and some welding to the nose cone. It has no lights or anything either.
  20. It's there again. Can anybody tell me why changing a bar should increase top end revs or make the mixture lean ? I mess about with engines rebuilding etc and am fairly competent at setting mixtures and such then something like this crops up again and I start to wonder how these things can affect top end and stuff when it's set up with the H & L screws. I can see how it will get to the top speed quicker but not how it can increase it or change fuelling.
  21. Don't send him up a ladder with a saw Stubby, you'll get into trouble I wear bib and brace Husqvarna trousers and a helmet off ebay but it surprised me in the bad habits thread how many pros say they are guilty of not wearing PPE on a regular basis. I bought a 135 online from World of Power and it came assembled and had been run and drained before shipping. I also bought a cheap old Stihl 036 on gumtree and did a few repairs and it's a good saw.
  22. It was in a red container wasn't it ?
  23. I'm struggling to understand the meaning of "tasty" in this post
  24. Where did you hear this have you got a link or a quote ? I've read all Husqvarna's stuff and can't find anything about limited life being part of their design plan. It sounds like an internet fact like I've heard they are designed to last a million years but I don't know how true that is either. Has anybody got any facts on what percentage of the saws are failing and what it is down to ? I'm enjoying reading what is happening in the saw world and what is the flavour of the month, Echo and Dolmar at present I think as Stihl have made the 261 that eats bearings and Husqvarna 560xp just stops working. You can't just put a rumour out there and ask people to disprove it without offering any facts to support it. I think they have adopted a Windows style plan where they release the saw and let the user beta test it. How can they unless they work for Husqvarna or were part of the design team ?
  25. Why would you put fish fingers through the chipper, potatoes yes ? We used to do a few Laurel hedges when I was a lad on the council gardens and we just used to take the stuff back to the depot and dump it on a heap to degrade. That was in the olden days when you could still burn stuff though. Nobody ever suffered any ill effects that I can remember.
